Apparently, they found it very emotional. After all, they’ve been a “family”, of sorts for over 8 years. It really must be hard to act out the loss of one of their own.

Check out this clip. I really enjoyed when Marg Helgenberger says that it was good to have Jorja Fox back for the episode because there had been an “overabundance of testosterone on the set.”

Fan favorite among the crew in CSI: Vegas, Gary Dourdan has agreed to appear on Season Two of VH1’s reality series, Celebrity Rehab, according to The National Enquirer.
Dourdan was arrested in April after police found drugs in his car. The CSI favorite agreed to a plea bargain requiring him to pay a $4,500 fine and to complete a 16-class drug program. I’m not sure Celebrity Rehab counts, but who cares?

True or not, let’s hope that the series will have the power to save a few lives. That would make it worth it.

8.17 For Gedda
Air Date: May 15, 2008.

At a funeral, the pall bearers seem to be faltering under the weight of the casket. The bottom gives out, and two bodies fall to the ground. The team arrives. The second, “surprise” body hasn’t been dead long –24 hours.

Brass talks to the mortician, who won’t say anything. He grabs a pad, and writes “lawyer”. Brass returns –on the pad- “you’re under arrest”.

In the morgue, Warrick recognizes the mystery body. He looks a bit freaked out, as well. The body is that of Lenny Harper. He was a cop, who “retired” at age 33, sporting a long list of complaints from his department tenure. He was most recently working as a private investigator.

The team goes to Harper’s office. It’s a bit too clean. Keys in a drawer lead Nick and Grissom to a car that has, likewise, been meticulously cleaned.

As Warrick is thinking about recent run-ins with bookies, he receives a phone call that aggravates him. He says he’ll “be there”.

On Harper’s computer, they find audio recordings of interviews and calls with clients. They listen to one that sounds like Gedda saying that he was going to “bury that guy Lenny”. Nick tells Grissom that Warrick hired Lenny to investigate Gedda, since he couldn’t do it himself.

Warrick calls Grissom from the Galley. He says he doesn’t know how he got there, that he just woke up there. He has a handgun in his free hand. Police storm in and arrest Warrick. Grissom shows up on the scene. Warrick is in cuffs, and Gedda is a bloody mess, slumped over dead in his chair, with Warrick’s cuffs on his wrists. Warrick says he doesn’t remember anything. The officer in the room tells Grissom that a nearby merchant heard shots. The officer answered the call, and found no one else in the building. Brass tells Warrick not to say a word, until he gets to the station.

Hodges tells the IAB that he overheard Warrick speaking aggravatedly on the phone, just an hour before the incident. Warrick tells the IAB that he went to Gedda’s, but blacked out. The evidence, though, seems stacked against Warrick.

Grissom finds voids in the blood splatter pattern on Warrick’s shirt. The pattern indicates that he must have been only about three feet away from Gedda, but the voids imply that someone may have been holding Warrick up from behind during the shooting. It’s not conclusive, but may support Warrick’s innocence.

Evidence at the scene doesn’t seem to support another suspect. Grissom finds that the ligature marks on Gedda’s wrists are wider than Warrick’s cuffs. Suspecting a police officer is acting as a mole for Gedda, they look at the records for officer involvement on the scenes. Daniel Pritchard’s prints showed up on the mortuary, but he hadn’t signed in there. His prints also show up on the casket. They check his locker. His cuffs are missing, but his cuff key shows traces of blood.

Grissom assures Warrick that he was framed by a cop working for Gedda, and that the DA is dropping the charges. His actions, working outside of department guidelines, and investigating on his own, require action. Grissom tells him that he recommended that Warrick be suspended and demoted, but not terminated.

Warrick treats the team to dinner. Warrick leaves, and gets into his car. Undersheriff McKeen knocks on Warrick’s car window. He asks for his reassurance that he’s going to give up hunting bad guys on his own. McKeen then shoots Warrick, repeatedly, in the neck. [OMG!!!]
