On a commercial airliner running into mild turbulence, Mac tries to calm the man sitting next to him. The young man, Ed Riley, is on his way to file for a patent, and shows Mac his invention: The Wig Lock, that holds his toupée down. At the Maroon 5 concert in the park, a fight in the excited crowd becomes a small riot. The police use soft rounds to take down the fighters. Eliza Carpenter, a college student fleeing the action, collapses and dies, right in front of a city bus. She appears to have suffered a blow to the trachea, probably from a stray riot control soft round. The woman has a lot of face and body paint.

Episode 5.01: Veritas

Stella is in one of the choppers, as the force searches for Mac and “Joe”, his kidnapper. She receives a call with a tip that the car may be near or on the George Washington Bridge (GWB), headed for Fort Lee, NJ. Mac, however, pops up, on screen, in the river. He makes his way to the bank, and into the brush in the Jersey City side. He flags down a car, and borrows the scared driver’s phone to call Stella.

Season 4 ended with a bang, and left us all dying to know what will become of Mac. Of course, we all want to know who “Joe” is, and what it is that he wants. Of course, picking up after the cliffhanger of this past season, season 5 will kick off with Mac still held hostage, and the team trying to figure out how to help him.
