CSI: Miami star Emily Procter has a movie that is currently in post-production that should be released later this year. Here’s the IMDb listing info for the flick:

Barry Munday (2009) (post-production) …. Deborah

Barry Munday wakes up after being attacked to realize that he’s missing his family jewels. To make matters worse, he learns he’s facing a paternity lawsuit filed by a woman he can’t remember having sex with.

From this info, we know that her character’s name is Deborah, but have no idea whether her character is the woman who is suing Barry or someone close to him, like his attorney, family member or friend. It sounds like it could be either a silly movie or a fun movie, depending on how it’s handled. I’ll keep you informed about developments surrounding the movie.

Hill Harper Has Things in the Works Too

Hill Harper is always busy. He’s a very interesting man in that he’s personal friends with President Obama and he’s written two books that made the bestseller lists. But he’s also always working in the film industry between shooting CSI: NY too. (Not to mention the fact that he’s incredibly good-looking…the man has and does it all!)

Right now, he has several prjects in the works for the big screen. Here’s what IMDB has to say about them:

Rescue at Pine Ridge …. Trooper Augusts Walley 2010 (in development)
The Red Robin …. Harry Shellner 2009 (in development)
Shanghai Hotel …. Carlos 2009 (post-production)
Bring Your ‘A’ Game …. Interviewee 2009 (post-production)

Hill has done so much to help inspire and even mentor the African-American youth of today. The film Bring Your ‘A’ Game is another example of that. He’s in great company in the film too with other stars such as Jamie Foxx, Ice Cube, Chris Rock, Spike Lee, Louis Gossett Jr, Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs & Russell Simmons. Wow! That’s some cast! Here’s what it’s about:

Bring Your ‘A’ Game: a documentary film in which a 17 year old African-American male encounters prominent Black male icons (’A’ Gamers) from diverse fields in a hip, computer-generated video game-style world.

Shanghai Hotel seems like a very different type of film, but also with a serious tone. Here’s the premise:

The Shanghai Hotel is the story of a young woman named Yin Yin (Eugenia Yuan), who illegally buys her way to the USA from communist China hoping to make a better life for herself and her family. After a long, treacherous journey stowed away in a the dark hull of an overcrowded cargo ship, Yin Yin arrives in New York City for what she thinks will be the beginning of a better life.

The movie The Red Robin isn’t about the family restaurant down the street…and it also stars Hill’s former co-star on CSI: NY, Claire Forlani. Here’s the basis of the plot:

The Red Robin: a nobel prize winning psychiatrist adopted orphans he treated from around the world. 30 years later, on his deathbed, one of his son’s accuses him of experimenting on the children on behalf of the US government.

And this is a very interesting movie for the history buffs:

Rescue at Pine Ridge: the true (and as-yet-untold) story of the US Army’s 9th Calvary (Buffalo Soldiers) and the events leading up to their valiant rescue of the 7th Calvary on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

These films seem to me to suggest that Hill decides upon which projects to join based on their social responsibility. See? He really is a terrific guy!

Adam Rodriguez Has Been a Busy Guy Lately!

CSI: Miami hunk Adam Rodriguez has been busy outside of the show filming several new movies that are all scheduled to be released later this year. That’s amazingly wonderful news for those of us who are fans of his. Here’s the detail about the new films:

A Kiss of Chaos …. Freddie 2009 (post-production)
Caught in the Crossfire 2009 (post-production)
I Can Do Bad All by Myself …. Sandino
aka Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All by Myself
2009 (completed)
Let the Game Begin …. Rowan 2009 (completed)

A Kiss of Chaos sounds great!! It’s described as:

A Latino thriller wherein an emotionally conflicted artist’s life is dragged into a vortex of chaos. Sounds great!!

Caught in the Crossfire looks like it will be very intense too with this description:

Two detectives investigating a gang-related find themselves targeted by both gang members and crooked cops.

I Can Do Bad All by Myself looks like a really fun flick! Adam will take on Madea in Tyler Perry’s latest comedy. Here’s a synopsys:

When Madea catches sixteen-year-old Jennifer and her two younger brothers looting her home, she decides to take matters into her own hands and delivers the young delinquents to the only relative they have: their aunt April. A heavy-drinking nightclub singer who lives off of Raymond, her married boyfriend, April wants nothing to do with the kids. But her attitude begins to change when Sandino, a handsome Mexican immigrant looking for work, moves into April’s basement room. Making amends for his own troubled past, Sandino challenges April to open her heart. And April soon realizes she must make the biggest choice of her life: between her old ways with Raymond and the new possibilities of family, faith … and even true love.

And finally, Let the Game Begin is billed as a comedy/drama that will show Adam doing what I’m certain actually is a talent of his:

Tripp is an average frustrated chump, who comes up with a golden idea. He partners with Gary, a Wall Street wheeler and dealer, and brings his cousin, Rowan, on-board to help with his business. As Tripp and Rowan journey together for business, Tripp learns about Rowan’s extraordinary skills- skills in attracting women. The duo realizes that business and relationships today have a lot in common. Tripp learns Rowan’s game and begins closing on business deals. But the problem is, Tripp is married. As the business grows to be worth millions, Tripp realizes that there are many players around him who want a piece of the gold. He must decide to either fight for the gold, or find love, with his new found knowledge of the game.

I’ll keep you posted about the release dates for the movies as they are announced.

CSI: NY star Melina Kanakaredes is currently filming a new movie that seems perfect for her. Here’s the IMDB listing for it:

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief …. Athena 2010 (filming)

The synopsis for the film says that it’s related to the idea of Greek gods, and since she is Greek, it seems perfect that she would play Athena:

A young boy discovers he’s the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods. Based on the book by Rick Riordan.

She’s in very auspicious company in the film too, with the other stars including Rosario Dawson, Uma Thurman & Pierce Brosnan also playing Greek gods. It sounds like an interesting film and I’ll let you know as details are released.

Eva Larue Watch: Lakeview Terrace Trailer Video

June 8, 2008 by Jonathan

Eva Larue appears as a police officer in the upcoming Sony Pictures film Lakeview Terrace. The film is scheduled for release on September 19, 2008.

In the film, a young couple moves into a nice suburban neighborhood. Their life becomes a living hell, though, when their next door neighbor tries to taunt and scare them into moving out, because he disapproves of their inter-racial relationship.

Watch the trailer, and see just how creepy Samuel Jackson can be.

Watch for more information on upcoming projects.

Are you likely to watch this thriller? If you’ve seen a test viewing of the movie, let us know what you thought.

Hill Harper: “Shanghai Hotel” Trailer

June 8, 2008 by Jonathan

Hill Harper, like many of his CSI: New York co-stars (see CSI: NY Actors Step Out Too), kept very busy during the writers strike. With three movies coming out later this year, he has a lot to show for this effort.

In Shanghai Hotel, Hill Harper stars as Carlos, an altruistic bike messenger and law student. Carlos tries to help Yin Yin (Eugenia Yuan), who came to New York for computer job training, only to find herself subjected to slavery as a prostitute.

Hill Harper show up briefly at the very end of this trailer, but it clearly shows –French Connection trailer-style- the magnitude of obstacles that Yin Yin and the other girls face, even with outside aid from the likes of Carlos.

Interesting? Sensational? Fantastic? Perhaps. After watching this trailer, what do you think?

Adam Rodriguez “Let the Game Begin” Long Trailer

June 8, 2008 by Jonathan

One of Adam Rodriguezupcoming projects, Amit Gupta’s Let the Game Begin, is currently in post-production. They have released a first cut, long trailer, though, and it looks like an interesting movie. Certainly, Adam Rodriguez has attracted many fans, ever since his days on Roswell, and his smooth talking character in Let the Game Begin is sure to please many of them.

Max has some marital and work issues. Now, his cousin Ricky offers to help him get ahead in life. Watch the trailer, replete with confusion, mystery, and mayhem.

CSI: Miami’s Adam Rodriguez appears with Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie), Lisa Ray (Bollywood/Hollywood), Michael Madsen (Sin City, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs), Stephen Baldwin (The Flyboys, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas), Jesse Jane (Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding, and ahem… many other films), Natasha Henstridge (Species), Lochlyn Munro (Charmed), Ken Davitian (Get Smart, Meet the Spartans, James Avery (The Closer), Diora Baird (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Wedding Crashers), and Caroline Néron (Eternal). The film is scheduled for release in 2009.
