Gary Sinise is Filming a Documentary About His Band
![]() [Photo: Newscom] |
One thing that any fan of CSI: NY star Gary Sinise knows is that he is very committed to support for the US troops. He and his band, The Lt. Dan Band, named for his charactr in the movie Forrest Gump, regularly go to play for the troops all over the world.
He was even awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal in December by President Bush for his work supporting American soldiers.
He has produced and narrated documentaries about patriotism and is now working on a new documentary about the band.
Here’s how IMDb has the documentary listed:
Lt. Dan Band - The story of a man and his band and the Patriots they meet along the way.
The program is listed as being narrated by Gary’s good friend Jon Voigt and should be a terrific program to see, once it’s ready. I’ll keep you informed about its progress here. (You might also want to go see the movie poster for the project on IMDb. I don’t have permission to post it, but it’s a very cool poster.)
Gary Sinise Spoke at USO Function
May 25, 2009 by Lynn
CSI: NY star Gary Sinise is well known in his efforts to support the U.S. troops abroad. And one of the organizations that is also very active in support of the troops is the USO. So it should come as no surprise to his fans that Gary attended a recent USO cocktail party and reception and answered questions from the attendees in a Q&A session.
The event was hosted by Hollywood Reporter and Editor Elizabeth Guider at Morton’s Steak House in Beverly Hills. I admire Gary Sinise for his efforts and congratulate him on the opportunity to help a very worthy cause.
CSI: NY Cliffhanger - Theory #1
May 21, 2009 by Lynn

I’m not totally sure this is a spoiler, but thought I’d play it safe, just in case. Michael Ausiello of EW gives us this about CSI: NY’s season end cliff hanger. Between you and me, I am in doubt that Gary Sinise is considering leaving the show any time soon, but no mater what info is leaked, I’ll report it here.
Question: What is your take on CSI:NY pulling a Dynasty and having all of the main cast potentially gunned down in a hail of automatic weapons fire (fade to black) cliffhanger? –Eric
Ausiello: My take is that if Gary Sinise doesn’t accept CBS’ salary freeze proposal, Det. Jessica Angell won’t be the only supporting character headed six feet under.
Melina Kanakaredes on the Craig Ferguson Show
May 7, 2009 by Lynn

Last night, CSI: NY star Melina Kanakaredes was a guest on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. She was there because she’s getting the word out about the upcoming CSI: NY episode she wrote. It will air on May 13 and it’s entitled Grounds for Deception.
If you’ve ever watched Craig Ferguson’s show, you know that he’s an absolute nut! And it’s always fun.
In the clip you’ll see them discussing the episode and Ferguson asks her if she wrote herself a great part and if she had Gary Sinise come down with a horrible case of diarrhea to keep him out of the episode. LOL!
Stay with the clip, because she gives us some spoiler info about the season finale and the cliffhanger we’ll be left with!!
CSI: NY - Episode 5.20, “Prey” Another Spoiler Clip
April 7, 2009 by Lynn

Episode 5.20 - Prey
Air Date: April 8, 2009
Here’s another clip that’s “hot off the presses”, so to speak. It was just uploaded by CBS and shows another clip from tomorrow’s episode of CSI: NY.
In it, we see guest star Catherine McPhee performing live on stage at the “Lemon Drop Room.” Mac Taylor, aka Gary Sinise walks in as she’s performing and stands to listen. Wow! She really can sing! It looks like it’s going to be another good episode!
Gary Sinise on The View Yesterday
Yesterday, the birthday boy, Gary Sinise was a guest on The View. He talked about CSI: NY a bit and then went on to describe his new project, a documentary called Brothers at War. It’s a very interesting sounding documentary about a man whose brothers signed up to go to war and he went with them in order to try to understand what they were going through and why they did it. We all know that Gary has been given awards for all of his work to suppoort the troops. What a cool guy!
Here’s a clip of his appearance on The View:

CSI: NY Episode 5.16 - “No Good Deed” Press Release
February 10, 2009 by Lynn

Episode 5.16 - No Good Deed
Air Date: February 25, 2009
The premise for this episode sounds somewhat similar to an early CSI: Vegas episode where a crow brings a human eyeball that starts an investigation. However, this time instead of being in the desert of Navada, the crime scene will be in New York City. Let’s face it. There are fewer places for human reamins to go undetected in a big city. I’m sure this episode will be interesting!

Episode 5.15 - The Party’s Over
Air Date: February 18, 2009
Talk about a buzz kill…a dead body dropping from the ceiling always does it for me.
And the dead body isn’t just any old dead body. Turns out it’s Deputy Inspector Gillian Whitford from the episode prior to this one. And who doesn’t love Craig T. Nelson who played Coach? He sounds like he’ll be a not-so-nice character when he guest stars in this episode of CSI: NY. It sounds like a great one!
