With all the success of the three CSI series, it’s amazing that none of the shows or their main characters have gotten Emmy Awards. What’s up with that?

The good news is that some of the fantastic folks behind the scenes are nominated for Emmys this year, including the makeup for that episode of CSI: Vegas that did a trbute to Battlestar Gallactica, A Space Oddity. CSI: NY guest star Ed Asner is also nominated for his performance in Yarzeit, the episode about Nazi war criminals.

This year, the usual suspects got a lot of Emmy attention. But we have to wait for the Emmy Awards Show to air on CBS on September 20 to find out who wins. Here’s the one nominations received by CSI shows:

Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series

  • CSI: NY – Yahrzeit – Edward Asner, as Abraham Klein
  • Damages – They Had to Tweeze That Out of My Kidney – Ted Danson, as Arthur Frobisher
  • Dexter – Go Your Own Way – Jimmy Smits, as Miguel Prado
  • ER – And In The End – Ernest Borgnine, as Paul Manning
  • Rescue Me – Sheila – Michael J. Fox, as Dwight

Outstanding Cinematography For A One Hour Series

]]> I found some photos of Jorja Fox at the Entertainment Weekly’s 6th Annual Pre-Emmy Party held at the Historic Beverly Hills Post Office in Los Angeles on September 20. Her new haircut makes her look quite different to me. I guess since she’s not been in the public eye as much in recent months, a change is more surprising than it might be otherwise.

ABC has announced a very interesting pairing of actors to present an Emmy Award together. William Petersen who plays CSI: Vegas’ Gil Grissom will present alongside the show’s newest cast member, Laurence Fishburne. I like it that they will probably make a joke or two about one replacing the other or one leaving so the other will have to step in….

Be sure to watch the Primetime Emmys on Sunday, September 21 on ABC for both of them on stage together.
