CSI: Miami – Episode 8.06 – Dude, Where’s My Groom?
Air Date: November 2, 2009

STORY LINE: Two groomsmen wake up handcuffed together and covered in blood, with no memory of the raucous bachelor party the night before. Worse, the groom is missing… [Source: SpoilerTV]

Spoiler:
An upcoming late fall episode of CSI: Miami, titled ‘Dude, Where’s My Groom?’ is inspired by the summer hit, “The Hangover.” However, star Eva LaRue (Natalia) cautions us not to expect any laughs: “Since this is CSI, it’s the darker side of ‘The Hangover.’”

Here’s the set-up: “It’s the day before a wedding and the groomsmen take out their groom for a night out on the town,” says Eva. “They go to a strip club and all hell breaks loose. Drugs are involved and they don’t remember what happened so we try to help them piece it together and find out where the hell the groom is.”

There will also be no happy Hollywood comedy ending.

Eva’s nursed her own hangovers over the years, and suggests a morning Bloody Mary as her “hair of the dog” remedy. One of her craziest evenings involved her own bachelorette party, with a male stripper grinding on her. “It was crazy ugly,” admits Eva. “It was mortifying. I ended up dancing on the bar later that night.” [Source: TV Guide]

Spoiler:
When a severed leg is discovered in the Everglades belonging to a girl who went missing from Las Vegas a week earlier, Horatio Caine (David Caruso) sends for Dr. Ray Langston (Laurence Fishburne). This launches a crossover that begins on “CSI: Miami,” moves to “CSI: NY” and finishes up in Las Vegas on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” making it the first time a “CSI” crossover has involved all three shows in the franchise.

“Everyone stays true to their writing style,” “CSI: NY” exec producer Pam Veasey tells ET. “What you fundamentally do is tell a ‘CSI’ story, which is what we all have in common. Once it gets to your show, you will see each of the show’s take a different approach to a story that starts in Miami. We did all get together and talk about what the through-line would be. Obviously, Ray Langston travels through all of the shows. You have to find the consistencies with his character, how he would flow into each story.”

Following Miami, Langston rushes to New York when Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) and his team identify a woman hidden in a big rig as someone Langston interviewed in Miami. Then the woman disappears and Taylor and Langston realize that they have uncovered an interstate trucking ring specializing in human cargo and black-market organ harvesting.

“The story is really a ticking clock story,” adds “CSI: NY” executive producer Peter Lenkov. “It is really a hunt for a suspect, but also saving a girl’s life. I think we put blinders on to get that done by the end of the episode. This [case] takes priority because it is real triage the way it lands in our lap. We realize soon after that time is of the essence. We elected in that episode to make it our sole focus.”

The search finally takes Langston back to Las Vegas, where the investigation leads to a prostitution ring that may be harboring the missing woman.
“They are all great episodes that blend together and lead you to the next,” Pam concludes.

The “CSI” crossover begins on “CSI: Miami” on Monday, Nov. 9 at 10 p.m., moves to “CSI: NY” Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 10 p.m., and wraps up on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” Thursday, Nov. 12 at 9 p.m. all on CBS. [Source: ET Online]

Spoiler:
CBS is planning a “CSI” extravaganza for November sweeps — star Laurence Fishburne (Dr. Raymond Langston) will appear in all three scene-of-the-crime shows in one week, and the whole thing wraps up on the flagship “CSI” on Nov. 12. Mild spoilers about the episodes follow.

Langston will first visit “CSI: Miami” on Nov. 9; he travels south in an episode titled “Bone Voyage” to investigate a case with ties to Las Vegas. Fishburne and “CSI: Miami” star David Caruso are pictured at left; perhaps Langston and Horatio Caine are talking about cool sunglasses, which Langston is still sporting when he arrives in New York on Nov. 11

In that “CSI: NY” episode, “Hammer Down,” according to CBS, “a big-rig accident results in the discovery of an interstate trucking ring that specializes in human cargo and black-market organ harvesting, and sets off a race against time to save a hostage.”

The three-part crossover concludes on Nov. 12 on “CSI.” In that episode, viewers will learn more about what Langston is investigating: “a nationwide human trafficking network that abducts young girls forces them into prostitution,” according to David Weddle, who penned the episode with his writing partner, Bradley Thompson.

Ubiquitious guest star Mark Sheppard, who played Romo Lampkin on “Battlestar Galactica” (a character who knew a thing or two about shades), has a guest role in that Nov. 12 “CSI” episode. Sheppard, who has a credit list as long as your arm and apparently by law must appear on every scripted show in existence, also appears on USA’s new show “White Collar” Oct. 23 and “Supernatural” on Nov. 19. General Spoilers:

[Season 8 Promo Clip]

Spoiler:
Question: CSI: Miami scoop? Please tell me Delko survives. –Jennifer

Ausiello: Sources confirm that Adam Rodriguez will be back next season, so, yeah, I think it’s safe to say Delko survives. Meanwhile, we caught up with Rodriguez’s former costar, Rory Cochrane, at the premiere of his new film, Public Enemies, and asked him whether another Speedle cameo was in his future. His answer was, um, interesting. “I can’t really talk about it,” he said. “They talked to me about something that I cannot get into details about… I did come back once as a figment of Delko’s imagination, but I am pretty sure that is it for me on that show. I told them not to kill me but they didn’t take my advice.” [Source: EW]

Spoiler:
Sources confirm that CSI: Miami is planning to kick off its eighth season with a circa ‘97 origin episode that will show the early days of the team. It’s my understanding that the episode will be told from the point of view of a comatose Delko (Adam Rodriguez), who flashes back to his first murder case with the Miami-Dade PD. Delko, of course, was critically wounded in the season finale. [Source: EW]

Spoiler:
Question: Since CSI: Miami is flashing back to 1997, can we assume that some old favorites will be returning? Like Rory Cochrane? –Katie

Ausiello: His participation remains a question mark, according to exec producer Ann Donahue. “We’re talking to Rory right now about coming back,” she says. “We don’t know if it’s going to happen yet.” (Click here to re-read Cochrane’s recent comments on the subject. What seemed confusing two weeks ago suddenly makes a lot of sense.) Donahue is able to confirm that Khandi Alexander will return for the Miami prequel. And what about Kim Delaney, who was shown the door at the end of season 1? “We love Kim [but] we didn’t approach her to do this,” Donahue says of the Army Wives heroine. “We [may] mention that Megan is on a task force in Tallahassee.” [Source: EW]

Spoiler:
Question: I am psyched about CSI: Miami’s flashback season opener! Anything else you can offer up? –Monica

Ausiello: We’ll catch our first glimpse of new castmember Eddie Cibrian in one of the episode’s flashback sequences. Apparently, his character crossed paths with one (or more) of our vets back in 1997. Speaking of Cibrian’s alter ego, exec producer Ann Donahue says reports that he’ll be transferring from the Hollywood division are “a misnomer… He’s actually worked robbery homicide in L.A.”

Question: How soon into CSI: Miami’s premiere before Delko is found? –Jimmy

Ausiello: “We find him in the first two minutes and he is unconscious,” reveals Ann Donahue, who adds that the flashback portion of the ep begins while he’s en route to the hospital. “The ambulance is hurtling down alligator alley and we [close in] on the license plate, which says ‘09. And then we change the license plate to ‘97 and suddenly he’s in his tow truck.” [Source: EW]

Spoiler:
Question: I have a need for Speed! So will we be seeing Speed(le) in the flashback episode of CSI:Miami, or did Rory Cochrane turn it down? –Kristine
Ausiello: Believe it or not, Rory Cochrane turned ‘em down. I kid you not. Methinks someone’s still a little peeved about getting killed off.

Question: Please more CSI: Miami scoop! –Jordan
Ausiello: The aforementioned flashback episode will reveal how Tripp lost all his hair — and it wasn’t because he was late to the Propecia party. As exec producer Ann Donahue explains, “We’ll see Tripp with a combover and Calleigh says something like, ‘You know, bald men are really sexy.’ And then the next time we see him he’s shaved his head.” [Source: EW]

Spoiler:
I am trying to get my hands on some scoops for next season of CSI: Miami. — Jennifer

TIM: How about some insight into new series regular Eddie Cibrian’s arrival? We haven’t heard much about him lately. Cibrian’s Jesse Cardoza, a transfer from Los Angeles, gets taken hostage on his very first day. During the crisis, he performs a heroic deed that requires him to take off his shirt, as heroic deeds often do. We soon learn that Jesse has some history with Horatio (whose top stays on throughout Cibrian’s debut episode).[Source: SpoilerTV]

Spoiler:
CSI: Vegas’ Laurence Fishburne will work major overtime this season. The actor’s character Professor Ray Langston will crossover to both CSI: Miami and CSI: NY during November sweeps, studio confirms to TVGuideMagazine.com exclusively. The storyline will begin on Monday in Miami, continue on Wednesday in New York and wrap up the following day in Las Vegas.

This is the first time a crossover will involve all three of the CBS hit procedurals. The last crossover occurred in 2005 with CSI: Miami and CSI: NY, but the episode did not involve any of the characters from the original CSI. [Spoiler: TV Guide Magazine]

Spoiler:
Got any scoop on the Eric-Calleigh romance on CSI: Miami? — Jackie

ADAM: Let me ask you this, Jackie: How would you feel if your lover shot you? A show rep promises that the bullet Calleigh fired will have huge repercussions in the season premiere. Plus, since it took seven years to get those kids together, so don’t expect a smooth ride. [Source: TV Guide]

Question: CSI: Miami scoop, please! —Jordan

Ausiello: Delko was originally going to turn up dead in the season premiere. It’s true! When Adam Rodriguez failed to come to terms on a new contract over the summer, CBS allegedly recommended that producers simply write it in that Delko didn’t survive last May’s cliffhanger. “But I wasn’t comfortable with that,” says Rodriguez. “And I spoke to [exec producer] Ann Donahue and she wasn’t comfortable about this either; we really wanted to make sure that the character had a proper sendoff. So she petitioned CBS to make this work.” Now Rodriguez will return for a total of 10 episodes (not the seven I reported last week), during which he’ll change professions and sort out his complicated relationship with Calleigh. “Like any great love story, I don’t know that the books will ever be closed on them,” says Rodriguez of Calleighko. Housekeeping note: Rodriguez has shot three of his 10 Miami episodes so far. He’ll juggle the remaining seven with his five-episode arc on Ugly Betty. [Source: EW]
