Episode 7.02 – Won’t Get Fueled Again
Air Date: September 29, 2008
Spoiler #1: When gasoline gets so expensive that Miami’s residents are literally killing for it, the CSIs come face to face with one of the city’s most sadistic crime rings, on CSI: MIAMI, scheduled to air on Monday, September 29th(10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Megalyn Echikunwoke joins the cast of CSI: MIAMI as a series regular starring as the new medical examiner, Dr. Tara Price. [Source: CBS]
Spoiler#2: The episode starts on the beach, where a party is in full swing. Beautiful people are gathered under tents made of sheer white fabric set up on the sand.
A sound system fills the tents with music. The party-goers are mingling, dancing and drinking. Paul Sanders is in the thick of things, a cigar in his hand and a pretty girl on his arm. He’s the one throwing this shindig. He accepts a drink from Maria, a 19-year-old girl who is pretending to enjoy herself. Paul immediately sends her after another drink, asking his date if she’d like something as well.
Paul tells the DJ to turn the music up, and the party gets more energetic. Suddenly, a scream can be heard that sounds out of place. The sound is followed by a ball of fire bursting into the white tent. It’s a man, his body in flames, screaming for help.
The party-goers shrink away from the horror and the licking flames as the sheer fabric of the tent is set ablaze. As people run in every direction, the man on fire lurches through the wall of the tent and heads toward the ocean. He collapses before his body can reach the lapping waves.
Horatio meets Frank Tripp at the scene. They survey the charred body, and Frank says their victim’s identity remains a mystery–all of the party guests are accounted for, and nobody can identify him in this condition. Horatio is introduced to Dr Tara Price, their new coroner. She’s 31 and eager, not to mention enthusiastic about her job.
The burns are especially bad around the victim’s mouth. Dr Price tells Horatio that the deep, extensive burns are clearly the result of an accelerant. This man’s death wasn’t an accident–he was torched.
The accelerant used turns out to be gasoline. He’s covered with it, and it’s even in his esophagus–he swallowed it too. Dr Price gives Eric a tooth from the victim’s mouth to test for DNA. They identify him as Dan Granger, a college student with a record for trespassing and stealing. They visit Dan’s roommate, Johnny Kwon, and find him selling containers of gasoline to fellow students. Johnny admits that he and Dan siphoned gas from cars by the beach, but he denies killing his roommate.
Johnny gives them the container of gas Dan was siphoning when he died, and he tells them he saw a black Escalade speeding out of the parking lot. A special additive in the gasoline leads them to one specific gas station, and the attendant remembers a black Escalade parked with the hood up, ostensibly with engine trouble.
The attendant admits he didn’t pay much attention or ask if the driver needed help. Instead, he was focused on a beautiful young woman who offered to do anything for a free tank of gas. Ryan suggests the woman was meant as a distraction, and the attendant checks the subterranean fuel tank–1,500 gallons of gas are missing. The black Escalade was parked right over the cover to the tank, so they realize the driver must have stolen the gas while the attendant was occupied. Dan Granger was trying to steal gas from a bigger thief, and it might have gotten him killed.
Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

Spoiler: To know where this investigation is going, they need to know where it’s been.
The twelfth episode of CSI: Miami will be called “Identity Crisis”. The episode begins with the blurry, confused images that flash before the eyes of Doug Benson. He doesn’t even seem to be aware that he’s next to a busy three-way intersection. The man stumbles blindly into traffic.
Cars honk and swerve to avoid hitting Benson, who is moving haltingly across the lanes. He stares around, oblivious to the danger. People yell for him to get to safety–or to just get out of the road. The man is nearly hit by a bus zooming through the intersection.
Benson is sweating in the Miami heat, and when he reaches up to wipe sweat from his forehead, blood can be seen on his hands. His shirt is also covered with blood, but it isn’t clear if he’s injured or if the blood belongs to someone else. He continues to move toward the center of the intersection.
A traffic cop sees Benson and pulls over, rushing from his car to stop traffic and get Benson to safety. When EMTs check the man over, it’s obvious that the blood isn’t his–he doesn’t have any injuries. It’s possible that the person the blood belongs to is still alive, so the traffic cop makes a call.
Horatio and his team arrive, trying to figure out what happened. The traffic cop says Benson isn’t talking and doesn’t remember how he got to the intersection. When Horatio speaks to him, the man can’t even remember his own last name. He looks at the blood on his palms and realizes that he’s killed someone.
In the lab, Calleigh tells Delko that the blood on Benson’s shirt is still wet–he can’t have walked far. She wants every lab tech working on this case because they might have a life to save. Back at the intersection, Tripp is interviewing witnesses and getting a lot of conflicting stories–one homeless man offers to tell what he saw in exchange for a meal from a fast food restaurant. Unfortunately, Tripp wastes his five dollars because the man claims Benson came out of a space ship.
Ryan alerts the hospitals, but nobody has been admitted with blood loss. He decides to go back to the lab, hoping someone there has a lead they can use. Things get even more urgent when the tests come back. The blood on Benson’s shirt is from three donors: a man, a woman and their daughter. The man, Mitch Crawford, served time for insider trading, so the team is able to get an address thanks to his DNA. When they go to the Crawford house, they find out the family had a son that isn’t accounted for. A witness says Mitch, his wife and his daughter left out early that morning in a hurry with luggage on top of their car.

General Season 7 Spoilers
Spoiler:
Things are about to heat up in Miami.
After seven seasons of suggestive looks, Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter) and Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) finally embark on a romance tonight on CBS’ “CSI: Miami” (at 10 on WBZ, Ch. 4).
Producers “have been playing with this story line for a long time,” Rodriguez said during a recent conference call with reporters.
“For it to finally be coming to the surface and be addressed is long overdue. I think it will be really interesting to (see them) go through the highs and the lows together. There has been this chemistry between these two characters for so long, but because the love was never explored, it’s probably stronger than it would be if it was just two people meeting on the first day of work. We have seven years of history.”
Both actors said fans have been telling them for years that they wanted this story.
“I always get, ‘When are you going to hook up with the hot blonde?’ ” Rodriguez said.
The actors welcome the story as well.
“For so long, we were just staring at each other from across the table, so for me, it’s nice to see this relationship develop,” Procter said. “I would hope for Calleigh that she can pull it together enough to recognize what a great man Delko is and commit from her side. I think she’s always a bit skittish because of her dad.”
Rodriguez said his character is ready for a relationship.
“Delko has definitely been a guy’s guy for a long time,” he said. “I think it makes it all the more profound that he’s really making this decision now to commit all that energy and that love to Emily’s character.”
Like viewers, Rodriguez has watched all the show’s characters mature.
“Our characters get a chance to be fallible and go through the obstacles of making a mistake and have something to learn or something to overcome,” he said. “We’re all still growing. No one has gotten to the point where we’re almighty and never wrong and doing the same exact thing all the time.”
Procter looks forward to the scene in which their characters finally do hop into bed.
“I wonder what kind of techno music that will happen to,” she said. [Source: Boston Herald]
Spoiler:
Rade Serbedzija will appear in an upcoming episode of CSI: Miami. “I will play the role of agent Aleksandar Sarapov in CSI: Miami, a Russian who grew up in Texas, so the role is very complex, because some consider him a Russian, and other think of him as an American,” Serbedzija told Blic Online. Kristen in Missouri: CSI: Miami scoop?
P. Diddy’s guest spot is set to air on Feb. 9. As I reported before, Diddy plays a lawyer who goes head-to-head with Horatio (David Caruso). Says Diddy, “I’m a very, very wise lawyer. I understand the law, understand how it works, its imperfections, its limitations, and I know how to use them to my advantage. I know how to work the system. I’m just a very know-it-all, arrogant lawyer.” So who will win the battle of Caine v. Combs? “At the end of the day, it’s his show, so at the end of the day he’s going to win, but I’m giving him a run for his money as far as being his nemesis,” adds Diddy. [Source: E! Online]

Ausiello: Only that the show is casting a new lab rat who just might become a new recurring techie. According to my sources, said newbie Dave Benton — a twentysomething who’s like a cross between Dave Navarro and Mr. Wizard — helps Ryan crack a case. [Source: EW]
