I know we have all been touched by the enormous tragedy in Haiti. Watching the news reports simply breaks my heart. I am still bitter about the way that New Orleans was ignored and is still struggling, but I can’t let that interfere with helping with the current emergency in Haiti. They too need help. At least this time, perhaps our concern and our money will be able to do some good to help other human beings in desperate need.

It’s the beginning of the new calendar year once again. Nothing is really any different than it was yesterday, but the fact that we start a new year on the calendar usually makes people think about making a fresh start and trying to make things even better in the new year.
