Gary Sinise’s Alter Ego

CSI: NY’s very own Gary Sinise has an alter ego. It’s the one that plays the bass for the cover band, Lt. Dan’s Band. The band is coming to Denver on March 8 for the “Hollywood in the Rockies” Beaux Arts Ball.
Sinise played Lt. Dan Taylor in “Forrest Gump” and earned a Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Gump’s commanding officer. The band and Sinise vigorously support the troops — and they’ve toured numerous times in USO shows to Iraq, Korea, Qatar and various European outposts.
If you will be in the Denver area on March 8, you should go help …read more

Bicycling in LA with Jorja Fox

Jorja Fox from CSI and Katherine Kendall from SpinDaily investigate the coolest bikes in Los Angeles. Most importantly, the bike needs to hold Jorja’s surf board. Music by The Bloodthirsty Lovers.

Pretty cool huh! That video for some reason actually made me like her a little bit more. Not sure why. Maybe I saw more of a human side to her in the video. I still think she’s going to die this season on the show. We’ll see.

I know how all of you love the music and artists that are featured in a variety of episodes of CSI, so I wanted to give you this heads-up about an artist that will be making his debut on the October 17th episode of CSI:NY.
Will Dailey’s Back Flipping Forward will be the first release from the newly launched CBS Records, a label that combines traditional music marketing with direct integration of its artists’ music into television programming on the CBS and CW networks.  The October 2 release of Dailey’s Back Flipping Forward will benefit from this undeniably powerful medium–and one …read more

CSI: NY – Who Was That Singer?

I just got info sent to me about the red-haired singer in the season premiere of CSI: NY. She played the singer, Nova Kent, one of the killer’s targets.
I had actually been wondering about her when the message arrived. She’s a good singer. Apparently, her real name is Alison Sudol and she performs under the stage name of “A Fine Frenzy.”
(Follow the jump to find out more about Allison and her latest tour dates.)

What Was That Song?

What Was That Song?

TV shows are becoming a launching platform for more and more bands to get noticed. Many times we hear from fans wondering what song played in a certain episode of the shows. I too have heard a song and wondered what it was to go find out more information about it.
Trish has got an entire category on her blog dedicated to the music heard in CSI, Without a Trace and Cold case.
WARNING! The rest of her site has lots of topics about sex and erotica, so if you don’t want to see or read anything about those topics, I’d …read more

Former Creed Members Rock New CSI:Miami Season

Three members from the old group Creed with Scott Stapp have started/joined a new band called Alter Bridge. Their music is being featured in the promos for the upcoming season of CSI:Miami.
If the new television ads for “CSI: Miami” remind you a little bit of Creed that’s because the background music was written by Alter Bridge, which features ex-Creed members Mark Tremonti (guitar), Scott Phillips (drums) and Brian Marshall (bass).
The promotional spot, unveiled August 27, features the new Alter Bridge song “Rise Today.” The track will appear on the band’s upcoming second album Blackbird, which comes out October …read more

Gary Sinise and His Band Will Perform For 9/11 Charity on August 11 in NYC

There’s a tribute wall honoring the first-responders to the World Trade Center on 9/11. It was the brain child of Brooklyn resident, Sol Moglen. According to this article in the Jewish Press:

The granite wall of 155 laser-engraved faces of Brooklyn’s first responders who died on 9/11 – which includes two Jewish firemen, Alan Feinberg and David Weiss – stands on the exterior of KeySpan Park’s west wall, where the Brooklyn Cyclones play baseball.

“How could we not do something special for those who crossed the bridge and never came home?” Moglen remembers thinking.
Moglen is not done, however. He hopes to …read more

Did You See Live Earth?

Did You See Live Earth?

Photo Caption: “See that one guy? Yeah, that one. I told you someone would show up.”
Yeah, neither did anyone else.
The live telecast only drew in less than three million viewers. CSI: episodes trounced it in the ratings.
Talk about a dead event! They may need to call in some CSI:’s to see if they’ve got an event suicide on their hands.

Gary Sinise Plays Memorial Day Concert

Gary first took part in the concert last Memorial Day and was asked to co-host this year. This however, is not the first time he’s supported the troops. He has regularly visited the troops in Irag and Afghanistan with the USO. It was in fact with these tours that the Lt. Dan Band was formed.
Sinise has been supporting the troops for several years. He began doing tours overseas in 2003 and has been to both Iraq and Afghanistan. After visiting the troops several times, he told the folks at the USO that "I play music with some guys. Why don’t …read more

Exclusive Interview With PJ Olsson Whose Music Was Featured on This Week’s CSI: NY & CSI: Miami

Last evening, I was fortunate enough to talk to a great musical star, PJ Olsson, whose music was featured in both CSI: Miami and CSI: NY this week. His song Hold My Light was on each of the shows and was the perfect musical accompaniment to the scenes it was featured in.
PJ is no newcomer to music, having been around in the industry for over a decade and has recorded three previous albums. Now he’s got five new songs in a new all-digital EP called The Ironwood Sessions he’s released through CBS Records.
I also found out that PJ …read more
