New Real-Life Crime Investigation Show to Premiere

February 29, 2008 by Lynn

Click Here! While we’re still waiting for those new CSI episodes, we’ll get to check out another real-life CSI show. Here’s some information about Crime 360:

Crime 360 pairs real-life criminal investigations with cutting-edge forensic technology for the first time on television in the groundbreaking original real-life series CRIME 360, premiering Thursday, March 6 at 10 PM ET/PT.

CRIME 360 takes viewers inside actual investigations as they unfold, using state-of-the-art 360-degree digital photography and incredible CGI (computer-generated imagery) visualizations to bring the evidence, and the evolving theories about what happened, to life. Each one-hour episode begins the moment detectives are called to the scene and follows the case until it is solved. From the start, viewers are part of the investigation - experiencing the crime scene from every angle, and the evidence at the microscopic level. As the case develops, and the theories change, the graphics evolve, culminating in a full-blown visualization of what really happened.

“CRIME 360 is the perfect blend of technology and the real-time edge-of-your seat suspense our audience has enjoyed with THE FIRST 48,” said Robert Sharenow, Senior Vice President of Non-Fiction and Alternative Programming, A&E Network. “Through the use of CGI, viewers will see forensics and evidence in a way they’ve never before been able to experience on television.”

Shot in Richmond, VA and Cleveland, OH, the forensic specialists in the police departments filmed for CRIME 360 have a new tool in their forensic arsenal: state-of-the-art 3D laser scanners, which enable investigators to remotely measure, model and diagram crime scenes with significant detail, preserving the precise original crime scene forever. Long after the crime scene is gone, investigators can virtually return to the scene of the crime to test out theories and compare evidence results.

Adam Rodriguez Featured in Estylo Magazine

February 9, 2008 by Lynn

Adam RodriguezEstylo Magazine published a feature about CSI: Miami’s Adam Rodriguez. Here’s an excerpt:

Now in his sixth season as police department crime scene investigator Eric Delko on CSI: Miami, Adam Rodriguez is living the good life in Los Angeles, but the days when he struggled to make a buck are still very vivid in his memory. “I was a bellman at a hotel, I did construction, I delivered pizza and fried chicken,” he recalls. “The worst by far was cleaning toilets at Penn Station. The money was like $16 an hour, great at the time, but I did it one day and I quit.”

Rodriguez was on an uncertain career path, having ruled out several careers by choice or force. A high school athlete, he suffered a back injury that nixed his notion of baseball stardom. A career in the air force was crossed off the list by bad eyesight. Interested in business, he became a stockbroker trainee for a while, but realized it wasn’t what he wanted to do with his life.

He had taken some acting classes in high school, just for something to do, and rediscovered theater in community college. He kept working odd jobs to pay for acting classes until a lucky break in 1996—a one-line role as a cop on NYPD Blue, thanks to his father’s old military buddy who became a producer on the show. That led to a regular role—a cop again—on the series Brooklyn South, followed by Felicity, Resurrection Blvd., and Roswell. Rodriguez also had a featured part in Jennifer Lopez’s video for “If You Had My Love.” He was tapped to co-star after the two met at a party.

LOST’s Josh Holloway as Supporting Cast for CSI:Vegas

I’m looking forward to the premiere of Season 3 of LOST. Premiere date is Wednesday, February 6th. Josh Holloway’s character of Sawyer from the show is one of my favorites.

Here’s a clip from an old CSI:Vegas episode, “Assume Nothing“ that had Josh Holloway from LOST appearing as a supporting bit part at a hotel crime scene.

If you’re a LOST fan, be sure and check-out the Approaching Lost blog that’s also a part of the b5media network.

CSI:NY Second Life Promotion

October 30, 2007 by Jason

Second-Life-CSI-NY-Promotion

Are any of our readers already in Second Life? Are you participating in this promotion? What do you think?

I think this is a genius cross-promotion and expansion of a brand across media outlets. I’m wondering who thought up this promotion at CBS? Or, was it Jerry Bruckheimer himself? Anyone know?

A.J. Buckley and Melina Kanakaredes were into the game in the “Down the Rabbit Hole” episode, do you think they’re real gamers? Anyone know for sure? I can’t imagine them letting out their avatar to the real world. Second Life is probably one of the few places they can actually escape the glamour and spotlight of the Hollywood life and paparazzi.

If you’re a player in Second Life, what’s your avatar? Should I join Second Life? How much of my “real world” time will I lose becoming engrossed in my Second Life?

Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for this.
