American Idol fans, as well as fans of Katherine McPhee herself will be excited to know that she has signed on to be a guest star in an upcoming episode of CSI: NY. According to EW, the episode will air in April and will not only involve her acting, but she will sing during the episode too.
Her fans are already aware that she is no novice in the world of acting. She has been in the movie House Bunny recently and will soon be in a new movie called Wedlock with Dave Annable of Brothers & Sisters.
I have word about what type of character she will play, but when I hear, I’ll share it with you.

CSI: NY - Episode 5.03: Turbulence
Air Date: October 08, 2008
This is another detail-heavy episode. If you’re into the details, it certainly helps if you recorded the episode, just in case…
On a commercial airliner running into mild turbulence, Mac tries to calm the man sitting next to him. The young man, Ed Riley, is on his way to file for a patent, and shows Mac his invention: The Wig Lock, that holds his toupée down. Mac finds a flight attendant’s brisk movement to the back of the plane curious, and follows her to the galley.

Michaela McManus to Guest Star on CSI: New York
Michaela McManus (One Tree Hill) has signed on to portray a flight attendant in episode 5 of CSI: New York. Details are still sketchy, but Mac is supposed to be on the plane with her, when another passenger attempts to hijack the aircraft. Mac is the new Job. The love of his life dies. Her son is kidnapped by the Cabbie Killer. He’s taken hostage by a gunman in a bank. Now, he’s going to be captive in-flight?!? Oi vey! At least he’ll have a veteran from another high tension drama to help him MacGyver his way out of another situation.
LOST’s Josh Holloway as Supporting Cast for CSI:Vegas
November 15, 2007 by Jason
I’m looking forward to the premiere of Season 3 of LOST. Premiere date is Wednesday, February 6th. Josh Holloway’s character of Sawyer from the show is one of my favorites.
Here’s a clip from an old CSI:Vegas episode, “Assume Nothing“ that had Josh Holloway from LOST appearing as a supporting bit part at a hotel crime scene.
If you’re a LOST fan, be sure and check-out the Approaching Lost blog that’s also a part of the b5media network.
Will Dailey on CSI: NY - Video
October 16, 2007 by Lynn
A few days ago, Jason gave you the heads up that singer Will Dailey will be performing on CSI: NY this week. Well, to get you ready, CBS just posted this video clip of him performing on the show with Gary Sinise playing bass.

Cyber-lebrity on CSI:Miami (10/01/2007)

This week’s episode focused around a teenager, Candice, that got popular by having her photos spread all over the Internet. It starts off with a variety of scenes with the girl getting her photo taken in various public places. We then see a swim meet at a high school where the teen is about to swim in a race. She notices someone in the stands with a large picture of her and win the race gun sounds, her boyfriend is shot through the heart with an arrow.
Horatio calls in Ryan Wolfe for a step in the direction of getting reinstated into the team. He wants Ryan to provide personal/private protection for Candice. As Horatio says, “This girl is in serious danger. Be careful”.
Calleigh begins interviewing the athletic director at the school about the archery team and equipment that was used in the murder. Calleigh obviously doubts him. The coach has a wall of photos of Candice.
We then see Adam Rodriguez back in the lab with another tech looking at the various photos that are available of Candice and the “shot that started it all”.
Note: The photo above is another illustration of how the CSI show is based on reality. I don’t know if there’s a single police department that has and uses technology like this tech is using. Similar stuff was seen and used in the movie “Minority Report” with Tom Cruise.
Who Plays Natalie?
September 30, 2007 by Jason
I’ve had a few different people ask who played the character of Natalie on the show. If I’m thinking of the same person, the miniature killer, the actress is Jessica Collins. She was most recently in the short-lived series “The Nine” which was about the lives of nine strangers lives that were forever changed in a bank robbery and hostage situation.
Below are some photos of Jessica from TV.com
Visit Jessica Collin’s page on TV.com for the larger, full-size versions of the photos.
CSI: NY - Who Was That Singer?
I just got info sent to me about the red-haired singer in the season premiere of CSI: NY. She played the singer, Nova Kent, one of the killer’s targets.
I had actually been wondering about her when the message arrived. She’s a good singer. Apparently, her real name is Alison Sudol and she performs under the stage name of “A Fine Frenzy.”

“Living Doll” Episode Recap CSI:Vegas
May 22, 2007 by Jason
Okay, I was finally able to watch and reflect on last week’s CSI:Vegas episode of “Living Doll”. I had been out of town Wednesday through Friday and didn’t get to watch any TV in the hotel room. One thing (among numerous others) the trip did do for me was to highlight the usefulness of something like a Slingbox. Having the ability to connect to my TV and A/V equipment from any Internet connection could really come in handy if I start traveling with any frequency again.
Here’s a brief synopsis of the episode provided by TV.com:
As the CSI’s continue their search for and discover the identity of the “Miniature Killer”, Grissom and Sara’s relationship gets exposed to the rest of the team as she goes missing during the investigation. The “Miniature Killer” is finally captured, but not before a member of CSI becomes the killer’s final victim.
We fairly quickly find out that the miniature killer is one of the foster children that we had come closer to expecting from previous episodes. The bleach freak-out catalyst is due to the killer pushing another girl off of her tree house and down to the ground where she hit the sidewalk. The father was obviously distraught by the entire ordeal and in the scene is sobbing as he scrubs the blood off the sidewalk with a stiff brush and bleach.
The killer has been watching members of the CSI team, and specifically Grissom. In one case of a car crash she notices how Grissom touches Sara Sidle’s arm and sees that there’s much more there than just a co-worker relationship. It’s for this reason that she targets Sara Sidle for her next attack. The show starts by her making a miniature doll of Sara’s body.
In a very interesting part of the show, the miniature killer is applying for a job with a maid service. We see her waiting in the lobby for her interview and thumbing through a sketch book of her drawings from previous killings. We also find out that part of the reason for her incanny ability to get every detail correct is that she has a photographic memory. During her interview, she is able to vividly and accurately describe details in the lobby to the interviewer.
Later we see her pounding dents into a model Mustang, which we find out was the car involved in the wreck of the crime scene with Sara and Grissom. She is able to obtain the car and uses it to reinact the scene she’s been building as her next miniature. More information about her is obtained from Grissom infiltrating the model builders community and making contacts with a local shopkeeper where the miniature killer has been purchasing her items. The shopkeeper let’s Grissom know that she had “crazy eyes” and that she had just purchased a little electric motor that would allow her to animate any item she wanted to in her models.
With her recent model that she left on Grissom’s desk she animated Sara’s hand coming out from the wrecked car and it was moving. Flashing back to “reality” we see an outstretched hand coming from underneath a car that’s been wrecked and in the rain.
The team apprehends the killer and Grissom is interviewing her and telling her that she’s the best case he’s ever worked on . At one point though he watches her as she slips something out of her mouth and into her hand, then slices Grissom’s neck in the interrogation room. As the viewer, we continue to watch as blood is pouring from between Grissom’s fingers and he stares blankly at her trying to figure out and understand what just happened. It turns out to be a daydream or hallucination instead.
The team then pursues trying to find out where in the desert this wreck could have been staged so they can save Sara.
As a little bit of Trivia. Did you notice who the miniature killer was? Maybe you recognize her from the show “The Nine” that was on briefly this season. Not sure what happened to it, guess it got pulled. The part is played by Jessica Collins and her character on the show was Lizzie Miller, who was engaged and pregnant by Scott Wolf of Party of Five fame.
