CSI: NY Casting Info

CSI: NY Spoilers!

Here’s a spoiler from TV Guide that I hope doesn’t mean what it suggests that it means…

As you know, season 5 of CSI: NY ended in a cliffhanger where no one knows which character is being written out of the show. I don’t like the thought of where this casting notice takes me:

What can you tell us about CSI: NY’s decision to hire a new CSI? — Karla

TIM: The show recently sent out casting notices for the new series regular role of Kaye Sullivan, a young, attractive risk-taker whose personality has elements of Lindsay, Dr. Peyton Driscoll and ADA Natalie Greer (played for two episodes by Heather Mazur). How do we know? Because the audition script prepared for prospective Kaye Sullivans consists of dialogue spoken by those familiar characters. [Source: TV Guide]

But then, here’s another spoiler about the cast changes for the show:

Question: I read that they are casting for a new female CSI on CSI NY. Any info on if this is a replacement or an addition? In other words, is someone not returning in September? –Kate

Ausiello: I can tell you that it’s not a replacement for either Anna Belknap or Melina Kanakaredes. Both are officially returning next season. Not sure about the rest of the cast. [Source: EW]

A Perfect Setting for the CSIs

June 30, 2009 by Lynn

I’m in Las Vegas right now, the setting for CSI: Vegas and I keep watching for Catherine, Dr Ray Langston and the other CSIs to show up and start taking fingerprints. I know that it’s silly, but it really is the perfect setting for the show. It’s possible to see anything happen here.

Just as my friends and I were waiting for our car to be brought up by the parking valets at the Bellagio, this armored car pulled up. I couldn’t help myself. I had to snap a picture.

We’ve seen armored car heists in all of the CSI series, but standing there, right next to an armored car, outside of one of the richest casinos in Las Vegas, I couldn’t help but look around for the story to begin. LOL!

Thankfully, no crime was committed and everyone was safe here today. But I thought it was such a fun thought and photo that I just had to share.

Have a terrific day, CSI fans. ;-)

Emily Procter at Botanical Gardens in Monaco

June 18, 2009 by Lynn

While in Monaco for the Monte Carlo TV Festival, CSI: Miami star Emily Procter took a break to go enjoy the Botanical Gardens. While she was there, she had a few photos taken, including one with Dancing With the Stars and Sex & the City star Gilles Marini.

CSI: NY Team Uses Cool Techniques to Solve Crimes

April 14, 2009 by Lynn

This is a cool clip showing a few of the more unusual trace evidence finds that have led to solving crimes on CSI: NY. I like how they combine them to show that any very small piece of trace evidence might turn out to be the solution to the case. The team goes through a few cases where minute amounts of “out of context” trace led them to the killers. I hope you enjoy it.

CSI: Vegas - Episode 9.20 - “A Space Oddity” Sneak Peek

CSI: Vegas - Episode 9.20 - A Space Oddity
Air Date: April 16, 2009

Someone would have to have no sense of humor at all not to like this trailer for Thursday’s episode of CSI: Vegas. It’s the one where the writers and the guest stars are from Battlestar Gallactica. Originally, this episode was to be called To Boldly Go… but now we see that the title has changed to A Space Oddity.

Lab rats Wendy and Hodges run into each other at a scifi convention. And if you’ve never had the pleasure of going to one, they are a lot of fun, even for a non-scifi fan like me. People walk around in full Klingon costumes and other amazing outfits, all while playing the parts of their favorite scifi characters, and so much more… And in this clip, we see Hodges’ very active imagination take over at times and it looks like he is romantically interested in Wendy. (Who wouldn’t be? She’s smart and pretty!) And when they get a murder case from the convention, the team and the lab rats have to wade through reality and fantasy to solve the crime.

Fans of the original Star Trek, be sure to notice David Berman’s parody of Scotty when he replies to the request to close the cadaver back up!! LOL!

CSI: Vegas - Special Effects Fun

February 16, 2009 by Lynn

One of the revolutionary things that CSI brought to primetime television was the amazing special effects in each of the episodes. We’ve come to expect them after 9 seasons, but they are still some of the best computer-generated special effects you’ll see anywhere…and they are fresh each week. Here’s a little montage of the more recent examples from the show. They aren’t for the faint of heart, but they sure are cool!

CSI Celebrates 200 Episodes With a Crime Scene…

February 11, 2009 by Lynn

…a crime scene-decorated cake, that is! ;-)

Check out these fun photos of the cast & crew of CSI: Vegas when they celebrated their 200th episode yesterday on the lot at Universal Studios. The cake is hilarious! It’s a crime scene, complete with a chalk-body marking, crime scene tape and a magnifying glass. I love it!! It’s absolutely the most appropriate cake for the occasion.

And it looks like everyone except Gary Dourdan & Jorja Fox were there to celebrate too. Check out the photo with Laurence Fishburne, William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Paul Guilfoyle, Liz Vassey, George Eads, Eric Szmana, Lauren Lee Smith, Archie Kao, David Berman & Robert David Hall.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making CSI!!
