CSI:NY Second Life Promotion
October 30, 2007 by Jason
Are any of our readers already in Second Life? Are you participating in this promotion? What do you think?
I think this is a genius cross-promotion and expansion of a brand across media outlets. I’m wondering who thought up this promotion at CBS? Or, was it Jerry Bruckheimer himself? Anyone know?
A.J. Buckley and Melina Kanakaredes were into the game in the “Down the Rabbit Hole” episode, do you think they’re real gamers? Anyone know for sure? I can’t imagine them letting out their avatar to the real world. Second Life is probably one of the few places they can actually escape the glamour and spotlight of the Hollywood life and paparazzi.
If you’re a player in Second Life, what’s your avatar? Should I join Second Life? How much of my “real world” time will I lose becoming engrossed in my Second Life?
Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for this.
Reader Developed Plot and Storyline
Awhile back I had encouraged our readers to write-up their own storyline and screenplay for an episode of their favorite CSI show. We didn’t get very many entries, so the people that did enter won. (If you haven’t received your prize yet, e-mail me with your address)
Here’s the plotline by one reader who I believe did the best work of going into the full details and planning out the entire episode.
Let her know what you think in the comments after reading her entry below.

Own A Miniature Killer Model
September 19, 2007 by Jason
How would you like to own one of the actual models created for the CSI:Vegas Miniature Killer plot line?
Now you can!
As we had blogged about before, CBS has partnered with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children to auction off one of the Miniature Killer models to raise money and awareness for their efforts.
The eBay auction will start next week on Thursday, September 27th. Tomorrow night’s the “Living Doll” episode is being rebroadcast as well. Also, during tomorrow night’s episode, the public service announcement that William Petersen did will also premier.
UPDATE: The PSA will not air on tomorrow night’s episode. I do have confirmation that it will air on next week’s episode.
We’ll have more photos of the model available soon, but for now check-out these small ones.
CSI:Miami’s Eva La Rue Speaks Office Romance and More
July 17, 2007 by Jason

In a recent TV Guide article with Eva La Rue, discussed a variety of topics, both about the show and life in general.
First we’ll jump to the office romance. What’s the deal with Ryan and Calleigh and Delko? Eva thinks it’s just some motherly care from Emily Proctor taking place as she’s not completely over Ryan it appears. Delko may just be putting too much into the meaning behind everything. You know he may not be quite right in the head still.
TVGuide.com: Yeah, but we know how soapy things can get.
La Rue: I know, I know…. I might be wrong, but as “Joe Viewer,” it looked to me like Calleigh’s intent was one of caring for him as her partner, and Delko took it to be a little more personal — probably egged on by Natalia.TVGuide.com: Plus, that’s just what guys do. We like to think the pretty blonde is more interested in us than she is.
La Rue: [Laughs] But I think Calleigh’s interest was more motherly, because Delko had come back from being shot. In the end, she’s not quite over Ryan.
We also learned some good personal stuff about Eva. Here’s what she records and watches on her DVR: Grey’s Anatomy and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (keep up to date on this show over at Lynn’s Reality Exploits blog). But like our house where we also have a 5-year old daughter, the TV is frequently set to Disney’s Hannah Montana, Even Stevens, or some other hit of the week movie.
We also learned that Eva suffers from some allergies and that’s why she’s currently in a promotion with Claritin where you can win a “Perfectly Clear Day with Eva La Rue” and go horseback riding, or maybe something else.
Give Us Your Plotline - CSI:Fanatic Contest
April 29, 2007 by Jason
It’s time for another contest!
Do you watch the various episodes of CSI:, whether it be my favorite, the original, or CSI:NY or CSI:Miami, and wonder, “How do they come up with this stuff?”. Well, if you’ve wondered that now’s your chance to bury yourself in exactly what it takes to write your own plot line for the series. And don’t forget to add some fabulous twists!
We’ve already got one entry from Paul E. B., so he’s our first entry. Let’s not let him win this thing easily. We want to see some really good competition here.
Here’s all you need to know:
- Pick your series (or maybe do a cross-over plot)
- Develop your plotline (extra points may be given for the best plot twist)
- E-mail one of your two favorite CSI:Fanatics: Jason or Lynn or leave it in a comment
- Keep returning to the site and we’ll post the entries and everyone can vote on the winner
So, what’s the prize? Good question! We have some CSI books to give away and some CDs from a music artist, PJ Olsson, whose music will be in some of the the upcoming episodes.
And let’s not forget the bragging rights!! You never know, this could be the start of a screenwriting career! (Ok, yes, you’ll have to do that on your own. We can’t help, but it’s great practice.)
Hurry! The contest ends On May 21, so you’ll have three weeks to put your best thoughts into your entry.
Questions? Let us know. Good Luck!!
