CSI: NY star Melina Kanakaredes is currently filming a new movie that seems perfect for her. Here’s the IMDB listing for it:
| Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief …. Athena | 2010 | (filming) |
The synopsis for the film says that it’s related to the idea of Greek gods, and since she is Greek, it seems perfect that she would play Athena:
A young boy discovers he’s the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods. Based on the book by Rick Riordan.
She’s in very auspicious company in the film too, with the other stars including Rosario Dawson, Uma Thurman & Pierce Brosnan also playing Greek gods. It sounds like an interesting film and I’ll let you know as details are released.
Melina Kanakaredes at a Premiere

CSI: NY star Melina Kanakaredes looks amazing in these photos of her! The brown makes her eyes look incredible!
These photos were taken at the premiere of My Life in Ruins last month. I think it’s cool that the actors get the time off to go enjoy themselves between shooting the seasons. It’s almost like summer break from school, only better.

CSI: NY Episode 5.24 - “Grounds for Deception” Spoiler Photos

Episode 5.24 - Grounds for Deception
Air Date: May 13, 2009
Tomorrow night is the much-anticipated episode of CSI: NY that was written by Melina Kanakaredes. In it, Stella picks up the case of the Greek artifacts again and turns in her badge so she can work on it. We already saw that she got Angell involved in the case and that it’s involving some very dangerous people. It should be interesting to see how the case wraps up.

Melina Kanakaredes on the Craig Ferguson Show
May 7, 2009 by Lynn

Last night, CSI: NY star Melina Kanakaredes was a guest on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. She was there because she’s getting the word out about the upcoming CSI: NY episode she wrote. It will air on May 13 and it’s entitled Grounds for Deception.
If you’ve ever watched Craig Ferguson’s show, you know that he’s an absolute nut! And it’s always fun.
In the clip you’ll see them discussing the episode and Ferguson asks her if she wrote herself a great part and if she had Gary Sinise come down with a horrible case of diarrhea to keep him out of the episode. LOL!
Stay with the clip, because she gives us some spoiler info about the season finale and the cliffhanger we’ll be left with!!
Melina Kanakaredes at Comedy For a Cure
April 18, 2009 by Lynn
The beautiful Melina Kanakaredes, who plays Stella on CSI: NY, looked amazing when she attended this year’s Comedy for a Cure. It was held at Boulevard3 in Hollywood and it was the 8th year for the event.
I think the thing I like most about Melina Kanakaredes is that she is not only a great actor, but she looks so well put together, not matter what event she attends. She’s got such a great sense of style.

CSI: NY - Melina Kanakaredes Scoop
April 17, 2009 by Lynn

Here’s some fun news for CSI: NY fans! Melina Kanakaredes, who plays Stella on the show has actually written the next-to-last episode this season. It’s got lots of intrigue and the story arc involving the Greek coins will continue and get more intense.
I was interested when I ran across this information about why she wrote the episode the way she did. It’s also pretty cool to find out that she will play her character’s mother too in the episode. That’s going to be cool! Check it out:
Spoiler:
Melina Kanakaredes—who went behind the scenes as the writer of CSI: NY’s second-to-last episode of the season, airing May 13—confesses she tried to score a free trip to her homeland by writing a plot involving “evidence in a smuggling ring that takes Stella to Greece in pursuit of a murder suspect.”
Because of the poor economy and looming strike threats, the location shoot in Greece was scrapped. “You can’t kill a girl for trying, right? Now we’re trying to find locations to re-create it.” (Might I recommend Sofi’s Greek restaurant on 3rd?)
The episode will spark never-before-realized chemistry between Stella and Mac (Gary Sinise) and “unravels something personal in Stella’s life. She was orphaned as a child and may find out who her biological parents are.” Stella will stumble on a photo of her mother, played by Melina dressed as an older woman. No word yet if Melina will also don a mustache to play her own father. [Source: Spoiler TV]
Melina Kanakaredes On the Red Carpet
March 23, 2009 by Lynn
Not only did Melina Kanakaredes from CSI: NY perform in the show for the The Alzheimer’s Association benefit gala, but she also looked amazing as she arrived for the event. I don’t think it’s even possible for this lovely lady to look anything less than beautiful.
This fantastic gray dress is so flattering on her and is the perfect complement to her Mediterranean complexion. As always, I’m in awe of her.
Melina Kanakaredes Performed in a Spicy Show
March 22, 2009 by Lynn
CSI: NY’s Melina Kanakaredes performed in what looks like a burlesque type of show recently. It’s the show called A Night at Sardi’s and it was part of the 17th Annual Alzheimer’s Association event in Beverly Hills.
I don’t know about you, but I admire Melina so much. She’s absolutely stunning and talented and in no way looks her actual age. She’s a true role model for many of us. And it’s going to kill me if she’s the one to be killed off of CSI: NY…
Gary Sinise & Melina Kanakaredes on the CSI: NY Set
Of course, these photos of Melina Kanakaredes and Gary Sinise are interesting too. Here they are on the New York City street set of CSI: NY and they must have filmed a couple of different scenes that day because Melina changed coats. (I think I prefer her in the black one, but hey, she would look fabulous wearing a burlap sack!)

On November 1, the cast of CSI: NY held a party at the Edison Hotel to celebrate their 100th episode. They all looked like they had a great time and there’s even a photo of Anna Belknap showing her baby bump!
