CSI Cliff Hangers: Many Questions and Some Answers
The season finales for all three CSI series really left us hanging. Vegas left Warrick in his car, in the alley, and Undersheriff McKeen walking away. Miami left Horatio lying on an airport apron. His ex, his son, and Ryan all remain some distance away, perhaps, but all possibly, suspiciously linked to Horatio’s situation. Then, CSI: New York has Mac driving in a car with “Joe”, the apparent mastermind of some, as of yet, confusingly complicated crime.
No one’s talking much, yet, but some of the creative staff of the three shows spoke with TV Guide for this week’s issue. Lynn talked about Warrick, in a previous post.
Horatio
The news and rumors are flying about on Horatio, and what is going to happen to him. David Caruso quickly gave us a little relief in his video “interview”. So, we at least know that he’s doing this to go after Saris. The mechanism of his plan is definitely not apparent yet, though. Ryan and Julia may have both helped Horatio execute his execution.
Writer Corey Miller told TV Guide that “Ryan Wolfe may be playing both sides.” This isn’t incredibly clear. That implies that he’s helping Horatio and helping the “bad guys”, or, rather, that he’s just helping himself by making both sides think that he’s helping just them. It could very easily mean, though, that he “helped” the bad guys “kill” Horatio, but he’s really doing it to help Horatio look dead. Ryan has been down the dark side before, but Horatio helped him get his job back. So, this may be part of his enduring gratitude to Horatio.
Mac
Mac is stuck in a car, with some apparently incredibly intelligent criminal, who knows a lot about ballistics, has access to crazy new weapons technology, and is a great actor. Now, what the heck does “Joe” want, and where is he taking Mac? Executive producer Pam Veasey told TV Guide that “Joe” is “quite a worthy adversary for Mac and the team.” Apparently, the early part of the season will have the team playing a cat and mouse game with “Joe”. They’ll have to figure out where “on the eastern seaboard” Mac is.
Check out the latest issue of TV Guide for more from the writers and producers. Stay tuned. We’re going to keep digging for more information. If there’s GSR, we’ll find it.
What do you think is going to happen in all three Episode 1’s?

If you are looking for more forensic mysteries while waiting for the new seasons, you might want to check out Dr. G: Medical Examiner on Discovery Health Channel on Fridays. You get to follow all the real cases a medical examiner works on while she is trying to find reasons for unexplained deaths. It is cool getting to see how her investigations really work since sometimes you don’t see all of the medical examiner’s work in CSI.
