Say Hello to the New CSI: Vegas Cast Member

by Lynn on May 17th, 2008

Lauren Lee SmithCBS just announced the replacement CSI now that Gary Dourdan & Jorja Fox have both exited the show. The new cast member is Lauren Lee Smith, who previously worked on The L Word. I have to admit to not having watched her in her previous role, but I’m hoping that her new role on CSI will be one we can grow to like as much as the characters she’ll be replacing.

I am surprised that there is now no cast member of color in the show after Gary’s departure. I suspect we could hear of another cast member joining the team, or at least I hope so. I like the diversity in the cast. It adds a bit more realism to the show and gives us more interesting characters, but that’s just me.

According to E! Online, Lauren Lee Smith will play Bryce Adams, described as a “smart, flirtatious and witty nonconformist obsessed with the underbelly of society, who got into police work to rebel against her disapproving psychiatrist father.” Sounds like a good set-up for a character. I look forward to seeing what she brings to the team.

I can’t wait to see the new character on CSI, but at the same time I was hoping that Wendy’s comment about maybe taking the field test in the Lab Rats episode would maybe mean that she was a possible replacement for Sara.

WE WANT JORJA FOX! No one will replace her. Since she left I have barely watched it but now they are bringing in someone new I don’t think I will again. Ever.

I think this is more to cover for Gary’s Character, they had the chance to replace Jorja early in the season and they didn’t. Maybe they’re holding out hope for her to come back. Who knows.

All I know is they needed another woman on the show, bringing in another man wouldn’t have been a good idea.

I don’t think bringing in a new full time CSI is a good idea. As much as I liked her character on L word… I’m not a fan of her per-say.

You can’t mess with a cast that has been together got 8 years…

I have a liking for Jorja Fox. but the new girl looks pretty and CSI cant have just one female in the main cast, with both Sara and Sofia gone, and what happened to Wendy.

GARY’S LEAVING IS A MAJOR BLOW TO THE CAST. MAIN CHARACTER AND A LOST WILL BE LOST THERE. EACH TIME ONE LEAVES WE LOSE AN ASSOCIATION WITH THE ORIGINAL CAST IN GENERAL AND IT DIMINISHES THE EFFECT EVEN THOUGH THE ORIGINAL ONES REMAIN AND ARE WONDERFUL AND WE WISH ALL OF THEM, HERE AND GONE, THE BEST.

The show just will not be the same. It’s lost so much of it’s appeal.
