According to the Chicago Tribune, the 2008-09 season of the Steppenwolf Theater Company will feature CSI’s William Peterson. Here’s more detail about the production in which he will appear:

Dublin Carol: The longtime Chicago actor William Petersen (now famous for his TV work on “CSI”) returns home to appear in Conor McPherson’s “Dublin Carol,” a drama set in a funeral home. Amy Morton (currently the star of “August”), directs. Morton already directed Petersen in this show at the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, R.I., in 2006. This show (Nov. 13 to Dec. 21) isn’t part of the subscription season.
