Ausiello Reveals New CSI: NY Cast Member’s Identity

by Lynn on March 9th, 2008

According to Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com, the new love interest for Mac Taylor of CSI: NY will be played by Jessalyn Gilsig.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Gilsig has been tapped to play a new love interest for Sinise on CSI: NY. Her character, which I first teased in last week’s Ask Ausiello, is described as a sexy, professional, mid-thirties female who works in the mayor’s office.

Gilsig’s slated to appear in at least three episodes with an option to return next season. Guess they’re waiting to see how viewers take to Big Mac’s new lovah.

Okay… there are more couples on the shows BESIDES Mac! What about D/L? Or Adam Kendall… or someone else besides Mac and Stella.

Well, the PTB have been trying to get Mac a steady girl since the end of season one, but I would much rather they focus on the rest of the cast (particularly Lindsay, Flack, and Hawkes) rather than have another Mac-centric storyline. I also think with the all-but-forgotten D/L (I miss that…), Flack/Angell, and now Mac/whatever her name will be, that the show is full-up on romances. I like seeing snippets of the characters personal lives, but I don’t want that to overwhelm the show.

I disagree with you Holly i personaly dont think that it overwelms the show i think it adds some drama which is not always there.

I think it would be nice to have someone for Mac who doesn’t dump him through a letter :P

Then again, we haven’t seen Flack with anyone serious (minus that one girl) or even Stella with someone serious. I could care less about D/L, so whatever TPTB decide, I’m sure it’s for the right reasons.
