She relies on her emotions and her feelings over physical evidence. Often, the two are conflicting.

He relies solely on the physical evidence, and allows no feelings to enter into the deductions he makes.

The character of Allison Dubois is based on an actual person who helps solve crimes using her psychic abilities.

The character of Gil Grissom is a totally fictional character and is most likely a composite of many of the common personality characteristics of good CSIs.
