CSI PC Computer Game Review
January 21, 2008 by Lynn

My close friend Cindy just got her hands on the latest PC version of the CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder computer game. She’s a big game fan and I thought it would be great to have her share her opinion of this one with you. (Since the shows are going to be mostly repeats until after the writers’ strike is over, this may be another way to enjoy quality CSI time.) You can get your copy at amazon.com
. Here’s Cindy’s review:
This game is great fun to play! The graphics are phenomenal and the interface is very easy to use. I think the best thing I like about this game is that you’re not spending hours wondering around trying to find things; the game lets you know when you’re done or if you need to search more. Comparing the evidence in the lab almost felt “real” and I found myself excited when I found a key piece of evidence. The story line takes you through twists and turns in the case, so you never really know “who dun it” until the end.
Another feature I like about these games is that it isn’t just one case; you have 4 cases to investigate. I completed the first one in about and 1.5 hours; a nice length of time for game play. I also like the auto-save feature and the way the game keeps track of your evidence. Plenty of help available if you get stuck or don’t know how to work the forensic equipment. I also like the way you can examine evidence from all sides to look for fingerprints or other trace evidence.
As is with any game, it’s not perfect. It takes an incredibly long time to install (I finally just let it install overnight–I know it took at least 2 hours.) and takes up a lot of space (over 1 gig) I also had to use the low graphics option with my computer; but the graphics were just fine to play the game.
