CSI: Vegas - Jorja Coming Back?
Just this moment, TV Guide sent out an exclusive interview with Carol Mendelsohn, the “Head Honcho” for CSI. Here’s an excerpt:
Are you bummed that something couldn’t be worked out to keep Jorja around?
Carol Mendelsohn: I am very bummed. You know, it’s been something we’ve been facing for a while now [so] I’ve given it a lot of thought. When Jorja expressed her desire to move on — even though I would have loved nothing more than to have had her here for Season 8 and Season 9 and on — you [react] as you would in any family: You love the person and respect them and want them to be happy and fulfilled. If this was the very end for Sara Sidle on CSI, I don’t think I could have handled the last few months. But it’s not. Jorja was always No. 6 on our call sheet. We’re retiring No. 6, so it’s there for Jorja when she comes back.
She’s definitely returning?
Mendelsohn: Yes. You can count on it.
This season?

Mendelsohn: That I can’t say. But the fans will not have seen the last of Sara Sidle. Nor will Grissom.
Would you describe her departure as a mutual decision?
Mendelsohn: No. It was, in the end, Jorja’s decision. And we accept it. I think sometimes the fans don’t really understand that the writers are fans of the show, too. And we love Sara Sidle. We love writing for Sara Sidle. And, as an actor, it doesn’t get better than Jorja. She’s phenomenal. So, yeah, it’s heartbreaking [for me], as well as for the cast and the crew. I’m almost tearing up now because it’s very hard to say goodbye, even if it’s [just] goodbye for now.
Did you know she was leaving before you shot the season finale last April?
Mendelsohn: Yes. I didn’t have a definitive date, but yes.
There were reports that the original plan was to kill her off in the finale, but Jorja refused to show up to work and shoot her death scene. Is that true?
Mendelsohn: No… I don’t, as a fan or a writer, embrace killing off characters — especially when you see this outpouring that we have gotten from the fans in support of keeping Jorja and Sara on the show; it has just been mind-boggling. [We] owe the fans so much and I don’t think killing off Sara Sidle would have ever been a way to pay a satisfactory ending for Sara.

I bet Sara and Gil will get married. and Jorja’s character will be in the background if she wants to return.
I DO NOT like Jorja leaving the show, but she needs to forge her own career. I hope she returns

I think sara and grissom will get married but then sara will leave for something and they will have a baby. i think sara and grissom are the best in the t.v. show. cat is always at work and never spends time with her kid but she still rox. and they never put warreke or nick on there eough to tell whats going on in there life so i think sara should stay. C.S.I. is my 2nd fav. show.ive seen almost every episode.!!!!!!DONT LEAVE SARA!!!!!

i think it would be ironic if sara had a baby…she said she’s not a kid person…but then again that always changes when you have one…
and hannah…in my opinion about 60% of the bad things happen to nick…like getting buried alive, being framed for killing the striipper, he had that stalker…etc…
…and they said something will happen for warrick and i love Catherine…plus her daughter’s a teenager, she isn’t looking for that much attention now…

It doesn’t sound like she’ll be coming back a lot, so the writers won’t be holding onto the character too much. This could mean some good changes in the show, some new interactions, and loosing that stale feeling the show has gotten the last couple of seasons. Hopefully the writers won’t screw up this chance.

Yes so it means Sara is Coming back. Just cant wait for here to cme back.If you realy are a fan of Sara you should be suporting haer and keep on writing good thaings about here not saying things you are saying like she is not come back ect. l am think by the end of season 8 she is going to come back. Question for those who are now wacthing seaon 8 didnt sara send a massege to grissom the other day. not sure becouse here l am not wacthing seaon 8 yet. Just cant wait for here to come back.

omg i love sara she is the best. from all characters in CSI she is my fav. I think sara and grisson should be together married and have a child. they are so cute together.

Hey all i can say is Sara better be coming back. She was definitely my favorite character. The episode where she almost died had me scared the whole show. And I really don’t think they can just leave the story “hanging” how it is there are still to many questions like: what happens with Grissom and Sara, are they still commmunicating, and I personally think the team has been seriously affected for the worse without Sara there. She has to come back!

yep sara gotta come bk they keep the whole sara and grissom thing dragging on for 8 years and 1 kiss and shes left come on !! lol bring her back xx
