CSI:Vegas Season Premiere - Is Sara Dead?
I decided to do something a little different with this recap. I figured anyone that’s reading this was probably glued to the television for the season premiere. For that reason, I didn’t figure there was a real reason to recap the play-by-play.
Let’s talk about what we think about the episode. I think this was an excellent episode and really fit the bill for a season premiere.
There wasn’t much to really question in the episode. I knew Sara wasn’t going to die under the car. The previews showed her under the car at night and the water rising, but later the team shows up at the car during the day and everything is dry. My original thought was that the water would keep rising and the car would become buoyant enough to lift just enough for Sara to wiggle free. It didn’t quite happen like that, but she was able to dig out easier with the water rising.
Sara ends up wandering through the desert for 15 hours without water and nursing her injuries. She leaves little markers for Grissom and Catherine who are looking for her ever since Grissom saw the initial shoe tracks from the car. They don’t find her and she passes out under the shade of a scrub bush. Nick is riding in a car and sees the glint of sunlight reflecting off the rearview mirror that Sara had been carrying around.
The search and rescue helicopter arrives and they take Sara away, Grissom joins them in the chopper. As they’re going to the hospital Grissom is holding Sara’s hand and her eyes finally flutter open and see Grissom. He’s visibly relieved and encouraged.

Perhaps the more intriguing discussion point is the previews for next week. Ecklie has Sara and Grissom in a room and questions them separately about their relationship. Sara says it’s been going on for 2-years, Grissom says 9-years. Hmmmm…has Grissom had a bit of an obsession for longer than even Sara realizes?
What do you think?

Grissom’s always had a thing for Sara. It’s been evident from the very first, and was also confirmed by the producers in the CSI companion published about four years ago.
In this case however, I think the point is that Grissom and Sara have a different definition of intimacy. Nine years ago would be around the time they first met.

does anyone know that song that they were playing on the commercial for this episode? It kind of sounded like Kate Bush but better. Please let me know
