CSI:NY Season Four Premiere - "Can You Hear Me Now" Part II
Thanks for joining us after the break, let’s jump right back into where we were.
Stella and Det. Flack visit the apartment complex of Damon Brock to investigate. While they’re there, Stella remembers being there for another murder earlier. The landlord remembers as well. The apartment is where the rooftop guy was embalmed. A call comes in while there and the outgoing message gives them more details. The killer knows they’re there. There’s an old “Viewfinder” toy with a photo reel of the next victim. Weird!
The team continues connecting the clues and determines all the clues have something to do with music. They try to trace the call and trace it back to AFH, Alistair Friedman Hall. They track down the victim and the killer are together at that location and the Mac and Danny go to try and apprehend. There’s a guy trapped in one of the tympani drums, who later died in the emergency room. The killer cut the victim’s tongue out of his mouth. As Mac was crossing the street and noticed the time left on the cross walk was “3″ and reminded him of the calls he received at 3:33am.
There’s a video included on the cellphone with the victim of the killer being interrogated and beat up on the video. All the clues they received from victims were details about a possible crime. The medical examiner removes a folded up piece of paper from the drum victim’s mouth. Dr. Hawkes retrieves details from what appears to be a receipt of some sort.
Stella goes back to the murder she remembered earlier of Marie Casimara. She pieces together that the two victims both lived in the building at the time of the murder and shares that information with Mac. They’re being killed because they witnessed the murder, now the killer is going back to tie-up loose ends. I’m guessing it’s the landlord of the building. The receipt that Sheldon found was for a concert ticket for the lounge singer, Nova Kent, they questioned earlier, who just took the stage. The team leaves to get there as soon as they can before the killer does.
—– Commercial Break —–
Mac, Stella, Flack and Danny show up at the concert. Stella recognizes flowers being held by a guy that matched the flowers that were received by Nova Kent earlier when she was questioned. Danny and Flack apprehend him without much struggle. Nova saw the murder and the murderer, but he let her go promising she wouldn’t tell. But it never ended, he continued to send her black cala lilies. She would move, but he kept finding her. Flack interrogates the alleged murderer. Stella goes back to the apartment complex. The landlord seems a little creepy talking to Stella, strengthening my idea.
Mac, Lindsey and Flack put it together about the same time Stella does as she begins playing the piano in his apartment. It’s turning weird though. It seems the landlord, Morton Bright, killed all these people to bring attention to the original murder of Marie Casimara. He went after all the victims because they didn’t speak up about what they saw the night of the murder.
The episode ends with Mac getting another call in his office at 3:33am and the person hanging up when he says “Hello”.

Not quite as good as the finale, but all-in-all, an excellent installment.
