CSI:Miami 09/24/2007 – "Dangerous Son" PART 1
Here we go folks, the season premiere of CSI:Miami is locked and loaded and ready to go. I’m actually starting a few minutes into it since I’ve recorded it on the DVR. That will let me pause during the commercials and finish out any thoughts I might have.
Whoa! We wasted no time getting things started. We open to a scene in the lab with one of the technicians receiving a print-out and letting Horatio know that suspect in a case is his son. Oddly enough, and in quite contrast, we get a less than smug look on Horatio’s face and no standard one-liner from him with the sunglasses. It’s been said in the past and it’s come to light again in this scene, David Caruso does play the character with a very human and vulnerable side that gets exposed to the audience every now and then.
Flashback to 8-hours previous, which I’m guessing is going to let us all see what happened and how Horatio’s son is a suspect in the case. I’m not really liking the jumpy camera work. It’s doing what they’re wanting it to do, but it’s hard on the eyes. Police cars rush to the house with SWAT. Detective Frank Tripp is on the street with another detective, Jake Berkley. As the team is collecting a shot is fired and a man is thrown from an upper story window of the residence. We then see a man in a hooded sweatshirt running from the house, jumping from the room and making a getaway in a speed boat parked at a dock behind the house. Again, guessing this is leading us to believe it’s Caine’s boy.
Horatio is on the roof of the house talking to the new detective. The murdered man is a probation officer. Get ready for the one-liner, “Two thousand cases and now two thousand suspects.”
Seems to be something between Calleigh and the new Detective “Jake”. Eric seems to be a little jealous as he notices that Calleigh and Jake are sharing the same tan.
Calleigh grabs a shoeprint and matches it to one of his parolees, Dylan, that also matched the skin under the fingernail that was collected by Alexx earlier. Dylan was caught in the murdered guy’s home in his daughter’s bedroom.
[Science Note: Did everyone catch the device Calleigh used to grab the footprint. Maybe it's been too long since I've seen a recent episode, but were they using that last season anytime? What is it? ]
———— Commercial Break ————————
Natalia and Ryan Wolfe stumble across each other as Natalia visits the firing range where Ryan is working to make ends meet. It seems the investigation department is sifting through Ryan’s paychecks and he’s getting psych evaluations into the immediate future. Natalia is working on her shooting skills, which she desperately needs. 1-15 for hits and misses. They both agree not to let anyone know the other’s little secrets.
Another suspect turns up. Turns out he was drinking and his ankle monitor alerted the PO of the parole violation. He’s a suspect. Horatio sees him in the precinct while Eric Delko is interrogating him. Seems to be a connection and a little uncanny resemblance to Horatio. The boy was born 07/06/1991.
The getaway boat turns up drifting, Eric and Calleigh investigate along with Det. Jake Berkley. A smashed shell casing leads them to look in the engine department where they also find some drugs. The detective announces that the boat is registered to a business, Ms. Cafe, where coincidentally the previous suspect said he had gotten a job with the help of the PO.
Horatio follows up with a suspect at the cafe who’s also on probation and does the deliveries during business hours up and down the canal. Horatio pushes him a little hard, but the he tells Caine he’s clean.

Xcellent premier. Does anyone know the title and artist for the scene where Kyle is being chased by the Coast Guard? Thanx
