William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger to Leave After This Season?
First it’s all about Sara Sidle’s character hanging around much longer and then we’re talking about what to do with the rumors of Marg Helgenberger and William Petersen being around much longer.
Ausiello is giving us the scoop again on the confirmed fact that this season is the last in Marg and Wil’s contracts. Will they stay around?
He also let’s us know that will be getting more Marg storyline about her familial past and getting wooed to be counsel on a big, high-profile case.
We’ll also see her venture outside the lab in an episode that features the return of her real-life husband, Alan Rosenberg. “One of the things he’s going to offer Catherine is sort of an opportunity to be on a dream-team-type defense on a high-profile case,” explains executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. “And she gets a little touch of the high life doing that. You get paid well, you get to stay in nice hotels, you get to have nice meals…. It’s going to be a little tantalizing for her.” I guess we’ll find out how tantalizing when Marg’s contract comes up for renewal next May!
I’m sure hoping the wooing part isn’t a lead in for a more legal focused spin-off series just for Marg.
With more introduction and screen time for the lab crew and supporting characters, could we be building to a replacement for Gil in the team?
“This is a year in which Nick is going to step forward. The question has always been, ‘Grissom is the supervisor, but who’s the supervisor in waiting?’” I guess we’ll find out when Billy’s contract comes up for renewal next May!
I think it would be a tough road for the series to lose Marg Helgenberger or William Petersen. I sure can’t see them working through losing both at the same time.

Grissom/William and Sara/Jorja can leave for all I care, but not Catherine/Marg. I like her. She’s like, the coolest person in the second opening credits spot, next to Melina. But even if she does get the big case, I think Catherine will stay, and Marg will renew her contract. She/they has/have to! Sorry, that’s confusing! :)

OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Marg has to stay i agree with i love csi:ny ! except for the grissom part i really want cath and gil to get together in season 8 . It also sounds like Adam Novak’s return is going to spice up Catherine’s life a little bit though maybe they will have a bit of chemistry in the lab again ! i just hope there arent any spill’s that screw up the project of science !

I figured it out ! OMG ! Ok the fourth episode is called “HIGH ROLLER” right ? that is catherines episode ! She get a couple more zero’s in her pay check and she is staying in waaaaaaaaaaaay nicer hotel’s gets awesome meal’s so she’s cruisin like a “HIGH ROLLER” !

if grissom and catherine leave, thats csi vegas over then. the other three characters are good and stuff but its like grissom and catherine are the main characters, you know? i deffinately want catherine to find love in the next season, shes had such a hard time in love that she totally deserves something along the lines of a love interest.

Haz- OMG I totally agree with you ! I mean holy crap if i was playing her character it would make me depressed with the stuuf the producer’s put her through ! She totally deserves a good guy !
