CSI: Vegas Spoilers – Grissom’s Got A New Project

August 8, 2007 by Jason

This week in Ask Ausiello’s TV Guide report, he shares that one of the ongoing storylines will be a little, personal quest Grissom will embark on early in the season.

“Grissom will begin to study colonization in Episode 3,” she reveals. “We’re going to do this very dark, scary episode set in a haunted house. While there, Grissom is going to find a live beehive, and he is going to take this beehive back to [the lab] and he is going to study it all season. He’s trying to figure out why these honey bees are dying around the world. It’s really about Grissom looking outside the lab… to see the problems of the world. It’s Grissom’s science experiment for the year.”

Hmmm, wonder what could happen in Episode 3 or leading up to that episode that would lead Grissom to withdraw into himself on a little personal project that seems to consume him. Could it be to fill a void left in his life by somebody dying?

I’m just saying.

I understand if Grissom needs some Grissom time, especially if his Sara ends under a Mustang in the middle of a thunderstorm in the Nevada desert, but the man is obsessed with creepy crawlers, and that’s spooky enough for me than a “very dark, scary episode.” Are they seriously going to pay Grissom to look at a beehive for what, a year? What, when there is a bug crisis, they turn to him for guidance. I do understand that he might be going through a loss, but hey, how is this going to affect more than one case. If he takes time off to do what he really does, I think I’ll be okay, but this beehive thing is starting to seem like a fill in for the miniatures.

  2. i love csi:ny says:

When I said fill in for minitures, I meant like time and stuff. Now that I mention it, I am going to miss those cases, even though they were sad. I have nothing against Grissom except for his “passion” for bugs. I hate his office.

  3. trekfan99 says:

Jason, Jason, Jason! You need to study your math. Every time you add two plus two, you get something other than 4. Last season, Grissom studied the miniture killer in depth, to the point where he spent considerable time constructing a miniture of his own office. He didn’t “withdraw into himself” then.
If Sara dies, I doubt that Grissom would be interested in bees. He would probably be more interested in finding out how much alcohol he can consume before he passes out. Or maybe how many times he can go unprotected with a hooker bofore he picks up an STD. Dying bees? He could care less.
I know this- CBS would be very foolish to kill off Sara. Why? The only reason that really matters to them- RATINGS! Not only would the legions of the GSR fans stop watching, but Sara’s death would lead Grissom to a dark side that I, for one, do not want to see.
I do believe that Gris and Sara are going to break up this season. GSR fans will want to see them get back together. Grillows and other non-GSR fans will watch because they are apart. It’s a win-win for CBS.
Plus, I think that CBS is trying to sway publicity in the opposite direction of Sara’s fate. Without telling untruths, they have limited comments to those that might have us believe that Sara will die. People, including Michael Ausiello and you, have been taking these comments, doing a little convoluted math, and concluding that Sara will die. Don’t be conned by CBS. They would have too much to lose if Sara dies.

  4. Jason says:

Looks like we’ll just have to see who comes up with 4 and who comes up with another number.

  5. Holly says:

I don’t think CBS has much to loose by killing Sara…. I’m not sure they are daring enough to do it, but I don’t think it would have a significant effect on the ratings. I think the vast majority of people (you know, those tens of millions not obsessive enough to go online to discuss the show) don’t particularly care one way or another. As long as the cases are good, they’ll keep tuning in.

Anyway, I’m a bit skeptical about how the whole bee storyline will play out. It seems like it could easily become ridiculous. Then again, I’m not a huge Grissom fan, so a lot of focus on his extra-curricular activities and interests doesn’t excite me.

  6. Ana says:

no one will die! SARA WONT DIE! Cbs has too much to loose if Sara dies, lets face it CSI is not having great ratings over the last season, so i think if sara dies they’ll do even worse! Sara dying is a publicity stunt! for getting more ratings for the next season….if she dies many people will just had it with the show!

  7. Ana says:

I totally agree with trekfan99 cbs has to much at stake! to much to lose!

  8. i love csi:ny says:

Sara is 97% sure going to go. I’m sorry, but she’s going to die, and we really can’t stop it. Once they kill her off, she’s dead, unless they pull a fast one on us. Then we’d have Speedle and Sara rise from the grounnd. But didn’t they say that Jorja hasn’t renewed her contract? I think she wants off, and if that’s the case, there is no chance of her staying. We are just going to have to move on. Just watch Sara filled reruns for the rest of your life. Refuse to watch the finale. Then she’d be alive in your heart forever. But you’d have to seclude yourself from websites like this one and you couldn’t look at a TV magazine again. You’d never get to see the series finale, which would be tragic. Maybe a Sara scrapbook would be easier. But I’m not making one. I don’t like Sara.

  9. trekfan99 says:

Logically, there is a 97% chance of Sara’s survival, not her death.

  10. Jason says:

I’ll give you there’s a chance, but I’m curious. How’d you come up with 97%? Are you just throwing it out there as a number?

  11. i love csi:ny says:

I said 97% because of the fact that she is in a situation that is very deadly and because Jorja has not renewed her contract. Peoples, remember that your Sara may not want to come back. She didn’t want to in 2004, and she prbably doesn’t want to come back now. Stop fretting, because we all know deep inside that she is going to leave CSI:. It is not the end of the world. So, now that we all are on the same page with Sara, does anyone know when Grissom is leaving. That way they have room for Wallace Langham, my Hodges, to be in the opening credits. Sorry folks, but I am not a Grissom fan. Don’t hate me. I know most of you like him, but I find him more ridiculous than Horatio. We’re all intitled to our opinion, right? Good luck with the Sara problem. I feel for you.

  12. Bethany says:

I’d hate to burst ya’ll’s bubbles but JOrja Fox only signed on for five eps. so she is either gonna die or leave las vegas for good . she may come back she may not . And I think that more viewers would show to just to see how Grissom would take it . I mean will he be in a state of shock? Will he go crazy and stop feeding his bugs or will he be perfectly fine and like the report said start on a new project . I am almost dieing waiting for the new eps to come on but if that happens I would die just to see the next episode ! Because Grissom is totally unpredictable ! But that is just my oppinion .

  13. i love csi:ny says:

OK peoples, here is the deal. If they do kill Sara off or Jorja wants off, they are going to either kill her off during the season premire and have Grissom get flashbacks of her for the next four episodes, or have her hanging on a thread of life when they find her under the car and either have her die at the hospital or survive and leave Las Vegas. Remember, she only signed up for FIVE episodes, and five episodes is not a season or a sign of hope for Sara to stay. As MontgomeryGentry would put it,”she’s gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, GONE!!!”

  14. nima says:

I think she is gonna die “cross fingers”

  15. trekfan99 says:

The rumor that Jorja signed a contract for 5 episodes means nothing. CBS needs to hide Sara’s fate BIGTIME, and a “5 episode contract” would allow Jorja Fox to be on the set up until the season opener airs. People have assumed that Jorja will be leaving, which is what CBS wants us to believe. She has probably also signed another contract for the remainder of the season, which CBS WILL NOT tell us about. The “5 episode contract” rumor is one of those limited comments that are intended to sway us in the opposite direction of the truth.

  16. bethany says:

    I love you nima !~

  17. nima says:

    I love you bethany….:D

  18. bethany says:

(lol) you are the awesomnest ! that aint even a word but it is now because bethany made it up !

  19. bethany says:

hey nima Email me at curleyque13@hotmail.com cuz we coul talk about how sara will either die or leave easier !

  20. nima says:

    “laughing ” Thanks :)

  21. wendy says:

I hope she stays on the show

  22. nima says:

You bet I will….! Off to bed now,it’s almost 4 in the morning here in Greece..:)

  23. bethany says:

omg ! (lol) its like 9:00 here !(lol)

  24. i love csi:ny says:

Sara’s leaving peoples. Just accept it. She is only sticking around for flashbacks or hospital scenes, or scenes where Grissom watchs as she rides off into the Nevada sunset, going far away.

  25. i love csi:ny says:

I think this Grissom project will get tiring after a while. Sometimes Grissom bores me.

  26. Lilach says:

Um Sara can come back from this death situation since if anyone saw CSI Miami when Eric got shot in the head he still managed to come back. When odds like that you should have died but I am glad he didn’t since he is hot. So that is why I believe that Sara can survivor this.

  27. Catherine. says:

I heard about this 5 episode contract thing and i agree with trekfan99, that there is actually another contract which will ensure Sara will stay for at least another season.
Personally, i’m glad that the Grissom and Sara romance thing will end because i really didn’t like that idea.
The storyline about Grissom investigating the life and death of bee’s is rather disturbing and doesn’t really interest me at all. Although i suppose it is about time he started to look at things outside the lab.
I also heard through the grapevine that Catherine will have another encounter with Adam Novacek, and she will be taking part in some high profile defence case, she will also be able to stay in posh hotels and be pampered and stuff, and there might be some sort of romance involved…? Also, Catherine’s early life and relationship with Sam Braun will be clarified.
And the lab rats are becomming a bigger part of the show.
If this is all true i think its about time the personal lives are finally coming to light!!!
