A CSI Without a Trace Crossover

by Jason on July 31st, 2007

Can we now say with a definitive that Sara Sidle will no longer be? So much so that they’re going to use her in a CSI / Without A Trace crossover show?

Get ready for a “CSI”-”Without a Trace” crossover that has been three years in the making. “CSI” star William Petersen and “Trace” lead Anthony LaPaglia will do the crossing-over. The story will start on “CSI,” end on “Trace” (returning to 10 p.m. Thursdays) and air back-to-back in November.

“CSI”: “The Sara-Grissom storyline is going to conclude,” Littman says. “Don’t take it in that definitive term. It’s very smartly done.”

I love Without A Trace, it’s another one my regularly watched shows, but I’m not sure how I feel about a cross over. I don’t think I’m a big cross over fan in general.

What do you think?

9 opinions for A CSI Without a Trace Crossover

I think you took two unrelated quotes and came up with the next big CSI rumor. I fail to see how the announcement of a CSI/WAT crossover is any way refers to the Grissom/Sara storyline announcement.

I agree with vplasgirl. People are taking Jonathan Littman’s comments and adding alot more than what is there. It sounds to me like Sara and Grissom are breaking up, which I expected to happen. Natalie went after Sara because of her relationship to Grissom, and I can see him breaking up with her to keep her safe. I think that TPTB at CBS are doing a wonderful job of steering publicity in the opposite direction of the truth… that Sara is going to live!!!

[…] is what I have found,  one source says Sara will only be back for one episode.  According to another source Sara will be used in the the CSI/ Without a Trace  crossover […]

I don’t know, I think the crossover could be that Sara lives through the wreck we were left with at the end of last season, but with all the turmoil over her relationship with Gil and his interest in Natalie, she disappears and Gil dedicates everything he has to finding her.

I response to CSI fan, Jorja Fox will be back for the season opener, but nothing has been specifically said about the rest of the season. I expect Jorja Fox to be off the set for several seeks until after that episode airs. That way, CBS will be able to keep the outcome a secret. They can explain Sara’s absence in a variety of ways, including hopitalization and “missing person case”.
Why am I sure that Sara will live? The Sara-Grissom romance is very popular, and so is Jorja Fox. Just look at the results of the “Should Sara Live or Die” poll. CBS will not permanently terminate a storyline that keeps viewers tuned in like GSR. Plus, Sara’s death would probably send Gil Grisom’s emotional state into ugly areas (depression, contemplating suicide) that I, for one, feel would be too dark.
However, breaking Sara and Grissom up at this point would be a smart move for ratings. GSR fans like myself will keep watching to see if Gil and Sara get back together. Those other people in the minority will be happy that GSR is done. It’s a win-win situation for CBS.

This sounds cool. Then again, it sounds like CSI: is desperate for new stuff on the show, but still that’s my opinion, not that I think it’s bad. I love CSI: and Without a Trace. I’ll be watching!

I dont know what i think about a Cross over about two great shows, because it would be so confusing… I know a lots of people watching one of the two series, but they havent barrely heard about the other… I think it would make it to weird to see these two totally different places and people work together.. I hope that Sara is going to live, she is the charater that i find most interesting because of her dark past, and there is so litel we actually know about her…

Okay honestly, me myself and I am SO EXCITED for the CSI/WAT crossover!! CSI has done a CSI/CSI Miami (I heard something about a CSI (or Miami) and NY crossover but I never saw it) and it was better than most CSI Miami’s (mainly because I don’t really like CSI Miami). The CSI characters bring balance to some shows, Catherine and Grissom do anyways, because of how level headed they are, so maybe they’ll help Jack cool off. I admit that I haven’t seen many of the Without a Trace episodes this season, so I’m not sure what’s going on with the characters, but what with how Grissom is normally, I think that it could help a lot to have him on there for a bit.
I’m so excited for this, no matter what people think!!!
Oh another note, I am going to be so sad to see Jorja leave the show, but I think it’s her time to leave. The show has had 7 (or 8? I think 7) amazing seasons, and she’s been there since the almost excact beginning, but we almost know she’ll be back to guest star right?
Anyways, that’s just what I think.

my wife is driving me nuts regarding the dockside cranes that appear at the start of the episodes. she is certain the are manufactured by Pitt and Stodhart or at least designed by them. would you please clarify if possible, that will then allow her to think of something else t challenge me with. seasons greetings from Maggie and Neil
