CSI is whack, stupid and lacks chemistry
I just came across this review of CSI that’s from someone far from a fanatic like we are.
1. The characters are lifeless - their life stories are too atypical.
2. The CSI does too much work - I don’t know much about CSI work, but I am pretty freaking sure they don’t confront criminals like they do in the show.
3. Their attempt to explain CSI procedures are too blatant - they could really do a better job disguising it when they explain things to the audience
4. Their job seems too easy - they always find this and that to solve their case… geesh… if it was that easy you’d be a fool to commit a crime
5. CSI jokes are corny - they suck at throwing out punchlines and telling jokes
6. Bones is so much better - Bones characters are lovable, funny, and there is better chemistry between them.
I strongly disagree with his first point. I believe one of the reason the shows are so popular is because of the strong dynamics of each of the characters and their relationships with and interactions between each other.
I do agree with #2. Some of the actual police work we see the CSI’s do in each episode is a little far-fetched. I think the only way a CSI would so some of those things would be if they were in a little small town of a few cops and they had to do everything or it wouldn’t get done. But a small town CSI show would be pretty boring.
Considering the reader likes “Bones” so much, maybe we could interest them in our Searching Bones site.

After reading this, I am a little astonished. These shows are so loved but we don’t think about those few people out there that don’t like them. While I agree that it was hard in the beginning to watch these shows, after seven years of being on the air, you start to understand. And the people on the show have to explain the procedures because how the heck are we supposed to know what some big machine does? And since this is a 45-60 minute show, they have to make the evidence easy to find because they don’t have that long to solve the murder. They have to get along with the show. And as for the writing, CSI: Miami is the worst. Horatio, I love you, but the oneliners are more comedic than threatening. Now, I’ve never seen Bones, because I keep my eyes amongst the ranks of crime dramas on CBS (can you say obsessed?), but I am sure that it has some similar aspects of CSI:, CSI: Miami, and CSI: NY. And even if someone called these shows lacking in chemestry, they don’t lack great ratings by Nielsen and fans.

By the way, number #6 has nothing to do with the CSI: shows. I know that I’m writing this way after the comment was put up, but still…
