Mandy Patinkin Leaves Criminal Minds
I know it’s not CSI, but I figure there are probably a number of you that enjoy watching Criminal Minds as well.
Here’s the scoop on Mandy Patinkin leaving the show. We don’t even get a chance to kill him off or write him out of the show, he’s just gone.
I love this show, but we’ll have to see if it’s the same without Mandy’s character, Jason Gideon.
It would be like one of the CSI series losing William Petersen, Gary Sinise or David Caruso.
Can you imagine one of those shows without their center character? Do you consider one of those guys “center” and crucial to the rest of the cast or could they be replaced?

Well I know that when William Petersen leaves CSI, I won’t be watching anymore. Grissom is THE reason I watch at all because I just love his character’s quirkiness, intelligence and integrity. I can’t imagine CSI without him. I’m sure the fans of Criminal Minds feel the same way about Mandy.

I am really shocked to hear that Mandy is leaving the show whether on his own or forced out. I am not sure if the show will last now. He is THE man, Jason. Everything that show hinges on is his insight and just his power to be—they are really going to have to find someone as powerful as Mandy to fill the role of the centralized character. I’m saddened and disappointed–I’m glad there is still CSI–CM was just another good show among the likes of the CSI’s–William PLEASE do not leave us either–I was scared when he William (Peterson) took the leave to do his play–I was afraid he wasn’t coming back…thank goodness he did

Mandy Patinkin leaving is a huge blow to the show… no matter what other people say, he was a big part of the series and to have someone like him leave does it’s damage. Gladly, even if this show was to die down, I can tune onto Spike TV to watch their new mini-series called “The Kill Point” that’ll have it’s premiere on July 22nd @ 9pm. This mini-series is about Donnie Wahlberg, a negotiator, trying to work things out with John Leguizamo who is the bank robber. Packed with action, I’m sure this series will be great and I know all this because I work with them! If you never saw the preview, you can see them at http://killpoint.spiketv.com.

You’re right Jenny. I’ve already got my TiVo set to record the series “The Kill Point”. I’m looking forward to seeing the dynamics of the cast. I love John Leguizamo as an actor.

I want him back. I enjoy his character so much.
I even enjoyed him when played with Andre’ the giant in the princess bride. Please please please bring him back

Mandy Patinkin leaving Criminal Minds is very upsetting. I am a big fan of his work and I can not believe he has left the show. I have been watching this show from the beginning and I don’t feel it will last much longer without Mandy Patinkin. The Show needs him, Please bring him back!

I don’t think the show will last without Mandy. Sorry Joe, I have never been a fan and it seems every show he has been on lately has not done well in the ratings. He just doesn’t have the charisma to carry the cast like Mandy did. Please, if it is at all possible, consider bringing Mandy back!

I thought Mandy Patinkin was the show. I don’t care about it anymore. Does he have any future plans. I really miss watching him.

WTF.. I missed the first 5 episodes of the new season and Patinkin is gone. He was the most compelling and likeable of the the BAU profilers imo, and damn, what an actor. I’m going to miss him.

I too say bring back Jason Gideon!!! He was the reason I never missed an episode. I’ve tried to continue to watch but his replacement just doesn’t come anywhere near filling Mandy’s shoes. Offer him anything but bring him back. I just don’t care about the show any more.
