Are Writer Mix-ups In the Works for CSI at CBS

Do you ever feel that CSI is just too serious sometimes? I mean what’s with all the death and murder?

What about your favorite sit-com being just a bit too silly? Who really laughs that much and has that much fun in their real lives?

An idea floating around the production studios of two CBS shows could possibly be playing around with the idea of writers switching shows for an episode.

Writers of the original CSI:Crime Scene Investigation and Two And A Half Men are toying with the idea of writing each other’s episode sometime in the future.

“I pitched to Carol Mendelsohn the idea that me and my guys on Two and a Half Men write an episode of CSI and they write an episode of Two and a Half Men, ” Lorre told the Canadian Press at the Banff TV Festival.

As for Carol Mendelsohn’s reaction, she hasn’t disregarded the idea.
“Chuck mentioned it, and my writers said ‘we can be funny,’ ”

Carol Mendelsohn said.  “I just think it’s an interesting idea.”

What do you think? Bad ideas? Nothing is being discussed about characters switching over, just the writers. I’m sure CSI:Fanatics like ourselves could tell the difference.

I’m sure many of you wouldn’t mind seeing Charlie Sheen and George Eads together in the same show if they did decide to have a little character crossover as well.

A sitcom and crime drama switcheroo? Sounds like the perfectly crafted crime on TV. That would be bloody funny, and a huge criminal mess.:) I’d like to see the stars of CSI eliciting laughter rather than wide-eyed gasps. John Leguizamo, the seasonal comedian also crosses over to crime drama in Spike TV’s The Kill Point. He stars as a leader of a team of American Iraqi-War veterans that find themselves in the middle of a hostage situation after a failed robbery attempt. Interesting to find out how John fares in a crime drama, also being a comedian. See http://www.killpoint.spiketv.com. The Kill Point premieres on Sunday, July 22 at 9pm. I work with Spike TV so i know this.

John Leguizamo is a very talented actor. I think he can move from genre to genre with no problems at all. It’s weird seeing him go from “The Pest” to some of his other work. I’ve set my TiVo to record “The Kill Point”. It sounds a little bit like last season’s “The Nine”.
