Be a Real (Pretend) CSI
One of the resources I found out about in a recent interview is a little catalog from Ward’s Natural Science.
It was so fun thumbing through the catalog and seeing the stuff that is identical to what I’d been seeing on the various episodes of CSI:
For instance, I can purchase my own Luminol and start looking for blood residue that’s invisible to the naked eye. Of course the more I thought about it, the more I thought I might not want to see everything that’s not visible to my naked eyes.
The online catalog that can be found here is loaded with other stuff that’s cool. Entire kits for field research as well as the little plastic trajectory sticks for figuring out which way bullets were coming from in your local shootings.
All of you CSI:Fanatics out there can start your Christmas shopping in July by visiting the Ward’s Natural Science store. If you’re an educator, I’m sure this site and catalog is loaded with stuff that would interest your students.
