"Mr. Brooks" Movie Review
I haven’t had a chance to go see Kevin Costner or Marg Helgenberger in their new movie “Mr. Brooks” as of yet. I did go see “Shrek the Third” and “Knocked Up” though, and they were both very good.
Even though I haven’t had a chance to see the movie, I’ve been reading more and more reviews of the film and it’s seems to be getting various thumbs-up from a variety of sources.
This review from the Seattle PI web site is one of the most recent ones I’ve read.
“Mr. Brooks” is a delightfully twisted and intelligent movie, and writer/director Bruce Evans deserves lots of kudos for creating such an impressive, engrossing murder story. The casting choices were extremely odd, but somehow they worked very well together. Costner played the dual-life role with prowess and Moore was fearless and cunning as Detective Tracy Atwood. Hurt was entertaining as Brooks’ alter ego, but the monotone delivery of all his lines did get annoying after a while. Mr. Brooks’ wife Emma (Marg Helgenberger of “CSI” fame) didn’t have much involvement in the movie, but to me it was a bit distracting to see her there because it’s hard not to think of “CSI” when she’s onscreen.

i had a feeling Costner would make some kind of a comeback; plus it’s interesting how Dane Cook went from stand up comedian to starring in a ton of major movies
