“Just Murdered” CSI:Miami Recap

by Jason on April 24th, 2007

Just Murdered - Divorce Home LasersWe start off the episode by seeing a woman head toward a boat on dock with a chain saw. Then we follow-up with a man pointing a shotgun at the lady telling her he’ll shoot her. It appears we’ve got a little bit of a domestic, messy-divorce squabble. After a few swipes with the chainsaw and some shotgun slug holes in the boat, the boys in blue get there and get the couple to stop. Ryan Wolf, played by Jonathan Togo, interrupts the situation to let Horatio know there’s something back at the house they’d be interested to see. Turns out there’s a dead body, the trainer/girlfriend, in the living room. We also find out the house is divided down the middle with a wall of laser beams and the wife sold the husband’s Lamborghini for $200. Man! Why can’t I be in the right place at the right time for that kind of deal.

As Ryan and Alexx find a murder weapon in the house and talk to the son, the couple is interviewed and more details are brought to light about the shattered relationship that used to be a 19-year marriage. One of the things we learn is that the victim’s husband follows her to her client’s house and catches her in the act of “training” her client. We see him kill her in cold blood. No questions asked.

In the additional plotline, Eric Delko is approached by the woman that’s suing him from a previous episode. Eric didn’t remember her and Calleigh stepped in to save the situation for Eric, even getting a jab at the girl, Carmen, by saying “some of us work for a living”. Later Eric is in court and being grilled by the prosecutor on his being fit to carry out his duties as a CSI. The court recommends that he no longer processes materials.

The next drama between the couple is caught as Calleigh is picking up evidence in the other murder of the episode, oh yeah, the guy that got the great deal on the Lamborghini was found dead. The couple is rushing to the bank to get their hands on their safe-deposit box first, whomever gets there first gets the contents of the box. They’re both arrested for battery, destruction of property and disturbing the peace. Their lawyers meet them outside and let them know they’re both out of money and they need to sign over the deed to their house as collateral. Their actions end up getting their son kicked out of their house. Calleigh takes the son to his dad’s lawyer’s office to see if they can work something out and find the lawyer has been stabbed and dies.

Just Murdered - Hidden Murder WeaponIt turns out that the kid leads them to the murder weapon, their wedding cake knife, which was hidden in the house’s laser beam system in the flooring. Horatio noticed that two of the items that were listed as stolen from the safe-deposit box were being worn by the suspects: diamond ear rings and a watch. The couple came to the conclusion that the lawyer had stolen it and they went after him, ending up killing him. The couple had a sliver of sentiment left in them in that they agreed to kill him, cherished the watch and ear rings that each of them had given the other, couldn’t stand the idea that the lawyers had the house they first bought. So, they killed him with their wedding cake knife.
