“Cool Change” Episode Recap (Repeat)
I’m home for work today because I had surgery earlier this afternoon, had my gall bladder removed. But being home this morning allowed me to catch an old episode of CSI:Vegas from 2000. The episode was titled “Cool Change” and appeared on Spike TV. The following summary came from my TV’s embedded guide:
Grissom takes over as head of the CSI unit when Brass is transferred to homicide. His first job is to investigate a shooting involving a rookie criminalist who was gunned down.
and this recap comes from TV.com
A man is killed after winning a fortune and then dumping his girlfriend. So, Grissom, Nick, and newcomer to the CSI team, Sara Sidle, investigate this one. Holly Gribbs is in the hospital and Warrick is up for suspension for leaving her at the crime scene by herself. Holly later dies in the hospital, but Grissom doesn’t suspend Warrick.
From the information provided on TV.com, this episode was the first episode following the initial pilot episode.
This was an interesting episode for me to catch-up on. One, I didn’t realize that Grissom hadn’t always led the CSI team, and that Brass did initially. That was new for me. It was also appears to be the first episode that Sara Sidle appears. She came from San Francisco and Gil introduced her to Willows by saying she was a friend. Given this week’s episode about learning more about their relationship, I thought it was neat to get this repeat prior to that. Do you think they planned it?
The episode also provided the introduction to some of Warrick’s gambling history and problems. It turns out his gambling caused him to leave the rookie CSI, Holly Gribbs, who was killed when the killer came back.
