CSI : Miami Recap - Death Eminent (Lynn’s)
I had seen this episode before, but enjoyed it the second time around too. Everything revolved around a neighborhood in crisis. There were a number of subplots int he show and that made it even more interesting.
First, as Jason mentioned his recap, the show began with a murder and a body found in an empty building. We soon found out that it was the body fo a local councilman who was the swing vote in and eminent domain case. The homes on that beachfront street were in the process of being seized by a very large, corrupt land developer.
During the investigation, they came across one man who had dug up a buried body from his back yard. They traced the evidence to find the body of a girl who had gone missing years before. Then, they found out that she had been killed by the homeowner after being hired by a corrupt judge who turned out to be her biological father.
But the sordid details of this ill-fated neighborhood continue…
One family who were to lose their house had a mother who tried to sleep with the councilman to get him to vote in her favor and a teenage son who thought he was defending both his family’s home and his mother’s honor. He turned out to have killed the councilman, and the mother had not even gone through with her plan.
But the neighborhood’s problems went even deeper than that.
The corrupt developer had hired one of the men in the neighborhood to commit petty robberies in order to raise the crime rate so the court would approve the eminent domain case.
And that’s not all. Horatio had to step in to take a gun away from an angry man fromt he neighborhood who was threatening to kill the developer. And Natalia’s ex-husband just happened to be on the crew cleaning up the murder and who found the missing piece of evidence that solved the case. Afterwhich he proceeded to offer Natalia’s wedding ring back to her. (What a scumball…)
I loved how they showed the many sides of the issue of eminent domain. We often see how it can produce progress, but we seldom get to see how the corruption can exist or the lives that are potentially destroyed.
I also enjoyed how they blended several cases into the story line by making everything revolve around the neighborhood. Very nicely done.

I really liked this episod . we kind of get more of a glimps about why Horatio . Horatio tells the guy with the gun he knows how it feels to loose every thing because he lost everything . I too saw this twice .It is one of my favorit episod

This is one of my favorit too . It gave us a look at the reason why Horation don’t talk much . He said he lost everything . It shows the man been threw alot and its taking its tole on him . But yet he still keeps helping other people .
