Episode Recap: “Death Eminent” - Originally Aired 10/26/2006
This wasn’t a new episode, but I hadn’t seen it so I going ahead and watching and I’ll write a real short review here. Ryan Wolf, played by Jonathan Togo had a strong presence in this episode and he really stood out as a tough guy in this one.

The episode started off in a way I haven’t really seen in any other intro to an episode. They show a stylized clip of the murder occurring, but then do a kind of time lapse effect to show the impact of time on a dead body.
A little later Ryan Wolf and Alexx Woods show up at the scene and it’s a “bloater”. This is what happens when a body has been decomposing and has been sitting untouched. As the process of decomposition takes over, the resulting effect is methane gas which bloats the body like a balloon. You’ve seen it, just like the latest road kill on your commute to work, a little raccoon balloon. Is it odd that I’m talking like this after Lynn’s recent post about CSI:Vegas winning a Genesis Award?
A little side story going on that’s interesting is Ryan Wolf really pursuing and trying to avoid other officials from continuing their process of evicting the residents of a neighborhood that a developer is claiming eminent domain on for development of a new hotel and tourist area.
The developer has hired a guy that lives on the street to further deteriorate the area by increasing the crime and blight to help lower the property value. He quickly folds on the developer and gives his name to the CSI team. The original victim in this episode is a congressman that was voting against the development, leading to the hired thug to potentially be the one to take him out.
