Episode Take: Rashomama
As quoted by cbs
“Rashomon” is the effect of the subjectivity of perception on recollection by which observers of an event are able to produce substantially different but equally plausible accounts of it. Go ahead, reread that again. This wrinkle in the collective consciousness is named for Akira Kurosawa’s classic film “Rashomon,”
The case revolves around a wealthy mob defense attorney killed at her son’s wedding. After 11 hours of working and interviewing 200 witnesses; Sara, Nick and Greg stop for breakfast where Nick’s car was stolen. This is very serious because the evidence will be rendered inadmissable in court even if the police finds the car with the evidence.
This is where the Rashomama effect comes in. The CSI team is left with no choice but to recount each others perception on what transpired in the wedding event. Funny as it seems, different results come out because of human’s own interpretation on things.
This is like a “bummer” type of story, a comedic scene where people should be slapped in the head. Lucky for the CSI team since this is not one of those Jacky Chan fun movies otherwise they got their share of slap, fall on your knees, and beg type of scene.
On a different side Jorja Fox did admit she was leery of weddings like her character. Hmmm, how old are you Jorja? Whose your husband?
