Catherine’s ++ Side

Marg HelgenbergerThis is a two part series looking at both the positive and negative side of Marg.

Part I

Who likes Marg as Catherine? Well I do, she’s the character that represents power and success in her career at the same time being the sexy, hot girl any successful man would want. She’s got the experience, control, discipline and position to portray a commanding and bold role in CSI. Marg reminds me of the never-ending quest of the female species for equality among the male dominated corporate world. She has somehow given justice on how powerful women can be.

How could you imagine a girl looking straight in the eye of a savage criminal and beast like persona bringing terror through her sharp focused comments and interrogation? Well, she does that pretty well. Add her skin-tight clothes, flirty comments and hot looks; you have a new breed of the female species.

The only Emmy award winner in CSI has proven to the world her power and value through the episode of Weeping Willows that brought in an extraordinary viewership. No wonder she gets more airtime in the show than any other character even bumping off lead Grissom.

Like a team where a franchise player spells the difference between reaching the promised land or not; the show needs a hero like persona — Catherine.
